After three years at @notion , last Friday marked my last day at the magazine.
I wasn’t going to post anything, mainly because I don’t post much on my personal social media, but also because I’m not someone who often sits and reflects on their life or their achievements.
However, I feel compelled to write about the experience because it’s been such a big part of my life for three years. Anyone close to me knows that all I wanted to do as a teenager was to write about music and fashion and edit a publication about culture. I used to get on the train to London and collect various magazines from Good News in Soho, spending the money I had left on the records I couldn’t source at home.
It’s why I started an independent publication (@repeatmag ) with the homies, and it’s why when I saw a vacancy at NOTION after uni, I decided to go for it on a whim. I didn’t get the job, but I’m grateful the team saw something in me and offered me a position.
At times, the work was difficult, but in those challenging moments, I’d remind myself of the privilege of curating my taste for an audience that appreciates finding something new. To anyone who’s ever read any of my articles or watched the various social videos we created, I couldn’t thank you enough.
And to the people who’ve made up the amazing teams I’ve worked with, you’ve all gone beyond colleagues and become close mates. I have immense respect for anyone trying to make it in this industry; it’s hard to put into words just how brutal it can be.
Nevertheless, you know when it’s time for a change, and I’m looking forward to what the future holds. I guess the point of this post is to remind myself that it’s somewhat of an achievement to have lived out that teenage dream. It’s also to remind myself not to give up on it.
I’ve set up a freelance email and would love any of you lovely PRs, managers or whoever else to get in touch with any writing opps.

“I’m definitely a private person. I don’t like people up in my business.”
My convo with saxophone star boy @vennagram is now available to read! We talked about his monumental debut album, MALIK, why he’s bored of being labelled a “jazz” artist and how he thinks his music triggers emotions in others.

“We’re definitely not idiots. We’re all seperately intelligent people, but when we get together, we can’t help but fuck around, and it comes out in the music.”
Ahead of the release of their fifth album, Some Like It Hot, I spoke with the effortlessly cool @baritaliaa about shedding their mystique and becoming convincing rockstars.

N94 out now! Super proud to work on this one with the Notion team. I sat down with Mercury Prize winners Ezra Collective, hip-hop kingpin Lord Apex and Ghanaian superstar Black Sherif for three cover interviews, which on reflection, was pretty knackering, but so much fun. Gassed to finally have them out in the open.
