Wheelchair accessible accommodation for Edinburgh Fringe? A few people have asked me about this and I got nothing. Must be level access, with an accessible bathroom of some description. The different people who've asked me have different specific needs so tbh any leads at all would be great. Central would be great but commutable could work. Please comment or DM me if you have any leads. As a side point, if anyone's looking for extra acts in any drag/cabaret shows in an accessible Edinburgh Fringe venue, let me know! I know a lot of talented people who are excluded from most venues due to access. ID: a photo of me, a drag king, sitting onstage in my wheelchair, with overlaid text across three slides, as given in this caption. #EdinburghFringe #EdFringe #AccessibleAccommodation

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of doing some life modelling at The Little Art Hub in Galashiels with Looking Sketchy - @lookingsketchylifedrawing It's been years since I last life modelled, and it was pre-disability, in full femme times. It was lovely to do it again. Cos and all the team made me feel very safe and respected, and the pictures are amazing! IDs: Images 2, and 4 are photos of me posing at the little art hub. I am sitting in my manual wheelchair, wearing a green sparkly shorts, fishnet tights and a green sparkly hat with peacock feathers in it. Images 1, 3, 5 and 6 are of pictures the artists were drawing In image 2, I am also wearing sparkly green knee high boots, holding my right foot on top of my left knee. Image 1 is a black and white outline drawing of the same pose, drawn on a ipad Image 4 is a photo of me from behind. I am topless and you can see tape on my back from where I have taped my chest. Image 3 is a black and white outline of this drawn on an iPad, with '3 min' written in the top left Image 5 is a head and shoulders drawing of me with my head turned away. It's drawn using coloured highlighters. Image 6 is drawn using a red pen. It shows me in entirity, including my wheelchair. It's drawn from a rear perspective, but I am turning towards the artist. There is a fan of feathers behind my chair. Image 7 is a photo with art supplies in focus at the front. I am in posing in the background, out of focus. #LifeModelling #DragKing #LittleArtHub

Merry Christmas? This time of year is so weird, and comes on top of a 2025 that has crapped on top of a lot of people's heads from a great height - personally, nationally and globally. Whether you celebrate Christmas (through faith or as a co-opted secular holiday) or it's just another Thursday, whether you're spending the day with people you love, spending it missing people who should be here, having to spend it with people whose love is conditional or performative, or gleefully hiding in a cabin with a large stash of books; I wish you a peaceful and safe 25 December, and every day after that. May 2026 bring liberation and dignity to all. Lots of love, Himish x (Yes I sometimes sign off social media messages like they're a letter to the bank. I am cringe, and I am free.) ID: Himish Macbeth, a white drag king in his 40s. He has masculine makeup with a grey beard drawn in makeup. He is wearing a Santa hat over the top of a mess of short grey hair. He is looking calmly into the camera. #Christmas #LGBTQ

Thanks @doriant.fisk for getting hold of a paper copy of @snackmag_ , which mentions me in the drag kings article. It's always especially exciting to see your name in print these days! Want to know more about my 'something exciting in the pipeline'? Come along to the Adam Smith tonight (5 November) to see my funding pitch, and give @ghost.whistles a follow. To read the full article, see @doriant.fisk 's post. ID: A photo of part of a magazine article. Text reads "PERFORMER HIGHLIGHT: HIMISH MACBETH Himish is a Fife-based drag king who was one of the first participants in the Shut Up and King KINGcubator programme a few years ago. He is fast becoming one of the UK's most well- known disabled drag kings, was a finalist in Europe's biggest drag king competition, and has performed as far away as New Zealand. Himish also has something exciting in the pipeline for Fife, with hopes to create peer support and showcase opportunities for queer and marginalised performers." #DragKing #DragKings #FifeDrag #KingdomOfFife #LGBTQFife #LongLiveTheKing

I love chatting to folk on trains. In theory. But I tend to be cautious. If it comes up at all, I describe myself generically as a "performer', at least at first. The word 'drag' is so much more politicised, and if I'm going to spend several hours sitting next to a transphobe, I'd rather not know. I've had some scary experiences travelling by train alone. Fortunately, yesterday's encounter with a lovely man called Liam was a reminder of the many lovely people out there. We discussed the state of the world, and the centuries old pattern of the uber-rich getting everyone to fight each other so we don't fight them, and as the train delays mounted up, it became clear it was going to be a train makeup day. Liam was delighted, telling me that, in 30 years of train travel, witnessing a drag king transformation was a first for him. He kindly took these photos - shared with permission - and followed me on Facebook (hi Liam!) These aren't good times. Doing makeup on the train, then wandering around in king face, feels less safe now than it did when I first started drag. It's lovely to get a reminder of the joy and support that's still out there. ID: three photos of me, a white drag king in my 40s, sitting on a train doing drag king makeup. I have a green sparkly beard. In the first, I'm looking into a mirror and touching up my contour. In the second, I'm looking down with an expression of concentration. In the third, I'm posing, smiling with an white man with a home-grown white beard #DragKing #DragTransformation #DragPerformer #GodSaveTheKing #TrainTravel

If you don't likes show, rant to your friends, don't abuse venue staff. Thanks. I'm very grateful to my daughter when she helps me tape for a role. She's an eejit though. This video shows none of the actual scene I was trying to get, of course. The good bits are with my agent @visablepeople 😂 Video description: A series of outtakea of me, a white person in my 40s, against a plain background, trying to film an audition tape. My 11 year old daughter (small, white, and blonde) is speaking in the background and occasionally comes into frame. Overlaid text reads "When you have a self tape to send and your 11 year old is reading for you", with a laughter emoji. #Acting #SelfTapes #ChildActors #Audition #ScottishActor #Outtakes

My first full Pride performance has its challenges, but it's Scotland - who are we to let a bit of rain get in the way?  Thanks to @grimin.evil for this excellent footage from @dundeepride Video description: Footage of me, a drag king, performing onstage with 2 crutches dressed as umbrellas. It's interspersed with clips of people standing in the rain with large colourful umbrellas. #DragKing #DundeePride #PrideMonth #DisabledDrag #ScottishWeather

You can now find me in the @scotsqueerfilm directory! SQIFF is a new directory from the people behind the Scottish Queer International Film Festival, and their new directory includes actors, directors, designers, BSL interpreters...anything you can imagine. I'm really keen to connect with other queer filmmakers and this is such a great chance to do that. Check out the full directory to see all the amazing talented people out there, and save the date for this year's Festival - 28 October to 1 November. ID: Image 1 is a screenshot of my entry in the SQIFF directory. It includes a closeup headshot of me - a white, nonbinary person in my early 40s - with text reading "LH Macbeth, Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire, Angus & Dundee, Edinburgh & the Lothians, Fife, Glasgow and the Clyde Valley, Perthshire Actor" Image 2 is a screenshot from the website, with information about the directory: "Welcome to the SQIFF Directory! This directory is an essential resource for queer people based in Scotland working and making in the film industries. Currently in its development, the SQIFF Directory was created with the aim of promoting queer work in Scotland, broadening access in who can participate and be recognised in the industry. It's important to promote queer work in Scotland, as the industry often relies on familiar networks, limiting opportunities for new voices. By highlighting and showcasing the diverse talent within Scotland's queer community, the SQIFF Directory aims to ensure that more people have the chance to be seen, heard, and invited into these spaces" #ScottishFilm #QueerFilmmakers #QueerActor

48 hour film fest! I had such a great time at the weekend filming for "Missing, Presumed Dead: The Oath of the Chicken Seduction" for @48scotland . The result is a beautiful, farcical black and white detective drama where I play a dedicated but deluded detective. I can't wait to see it on the big screen next week! In the meantime, check out these amazing production stills by Samuel Joseph Mitchell! A million thanks to Holly for having me along, as well as to cowriter Sophie, my costars @madziova and @sammcmeikan , and everyone else involved in the hard work bringing everything together: Crew: Director / Producer / DOP / Writer / Sound Designer: Holly Lawrenson Evans @hollylawrensonevans_film Editor / Sound Operator / Writer: Sophie G Babcock @sophiegbfilmmaking Composer : Elias Vasiloudes Nikolades @eliasvasnic Assistant Director / Art Department : Ema Kmecl @emakmecl Art Department: Tess Syed-Tollan @tesss_sy Costume Designer : Eliza Beecroft @nectar__studios Hair and Makeup Artist : Ainslie Waterford @ainslie.mua 1st Assistant Camera : Lucia Cordero @lvzazvl Lighting and Locations: Jackson Altenkirch-Moroney @j.altmor Stills and Set Photographer : Samuel Joseph Mitchell IDs: a selection of black and white photographs featuring: "The Detective" - me, a white middle-aged person with masc makeup, including a significant stubble.
