I created these pieces to hang over our bedside tables! 🦢🐊
Inspired by the wildlife here in NE FL, these egret and alligator banners are made using a technique called felt appliqué. Hand cut pieces are sewn onto a background fabric, which lends itself well to yummy textures and complex shapes.
Important question: what animal should I do next?

I freakin’ LOVE a good sticker.
Every month, I send one out to my Patreon folks (along with other goodies), and it’s been so fun watching this collection grow over the past seven months.
I just added a bunch of these cuties to my website in case you want to add a little sweetness to your water bottle ✨ And if you like the idea of getting one in your mailbox each month, you’re always welcome to join me over on Patreon (@leximire ). The Sticker Lovers tier is $6/month 💌

A few weeks ago I finished up my biggest linen curtain panel project yet! And would you believe this is only panel 1 of 3?! 🙊
I filmed the process and uploaded it on YouTube for your viewing pleasure 🪡 I’m over there @leximire
thanks to Lily for the extra special commission 💞

She’s wrinkly but she means well 🤪
Always a joy getting to make a stained glass curtain panel for someone’s home 🌈 This cutie is made with linen and stitched with a serger so it can be beautiful from the front & back.

Here's a look at some of my January & early Feb sketchbook spreads! I'm trying to draw daily this year, while giving myself plenty of slack because life :) It's been really fun exploring mediums, bottling up memories and letting things be messy, ugly, scribbly, smeary. It's especially delightful drawing alongside @emthecreative as she pursues the same challenge.
1. @chanchoking late night oysters
2. posca pen animals
3. Nico (left) and Jane (right)
4. this is version 2 of this spread, as version 1 made me feel crazy and I painted over it once I remembered I make the rules here!!
5. loving limiting my color palettes and playing with the negative space
6. @communityloaves + @_flamingocoffee mems
I'm sharing these and more on my patreon! If you're curious about what I'm making & wanna support my work while receiving cute stuff in the email, find me @leximire

Current approach: Moving toward what feels good & trusting that on the other side of the gooey chrysalis phase is me spreading my lil wings🦋

There were a lot of reasons this prototype didn’t work out, the main one being that the white and red fabrics were too loose of a weave and kept warping/unraveling as I worked.
I was excitedly testing out fabric options and trying a new block design at the same time, so it was quite annoying when things didn’t work out as planned. 🤪
The frustrations taught me a lot about what I was looking for and the final product turned out sooo nice. This lil project was then stowed away for six months, waiting for its second life. 🌈
Are the fabrics still fraying and annoying me? Oh yeah, big time. But I’m the one who will wear and repair it, so we’re golden.

Modified the wonderful Ruby Vest pattern by @hisydgraham ✨
Still out here making colorful stuff, including my biggest curtain panel commission to date (!!!) and some sketchbook spreads. 🌈
I’m drawing every day (ish) in January and may keep it going next month if it feels right. I’m really enjoying returning to the page each day with the knowledge that there’s always tomorrow. It takes away the pressure to be “good at drawing” and makes it all about the curiosity and play.
Also, the pages on this @royaltalens sketchbook are sooo thick and perfect for mixed media spreads. Paint, posca pens, markers - nothing has bled all the way through and that makes my artist heart very happy. It’s the lil things 💗

Mutual aid for Minneapolis! 🤝
Each month, my Patreon subscribers receive a unique oracle card to build a deck over time. The first card I ever created, Collective, feels especially significant during this overwhelming time and I want to channel it towards something good.
In solidarity with those impacted by ICE in MN, from January 15-January 19 I will be donating all of the revenue earned from this oracle card to immigrant rights and activist groups in Minneapolis and St. Paul. All oracle cards will be shipped on Tuesday, January 20 via USPS in a stamped envelope. Link is in my bio ❤️🩹
Happy New Year, friends! 🌞
