George, Audrey, Megan and Ken surprised me with an early Mother’s Day dinner from Volcano Sushi and Grill (2053 East Hastings St.) on Saturday, May 9, 2026. I went in for coffee and ended up fully focused on this tiramisu instead. This was Level V Bakery’s tiramisu 2.0…made with vegan mascarpone and layers of coffee-soaked cake…and yes, it was as good as it sounds. We kicked off the month of February in Vancouver, packing in all our errands and appointments in the city! We discovered an awesome vegan bakery close to our neighbourhood @levelvbakery , fit in another laser appt at @westpointgrey_foxybox , and took Theo shopping to grab a few things for our upcoming trip 👀🌴 ⁣ ⁣ Then we headed back to the island and celebrated our first Valentine’s Day in our tiny house! It was very special, and an absolutely perfect day. We even watched the sunset from bed 🌅⁣❤️⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ We soaked up as much time on our property as we could, before coming back to the mainland for another ski week at @whistlerblackcomb ! We stayed at a very cute @homeexchangecom in Creekside, and grabbed treats from @eds_bred (a must!). There was so much more snow on the mountain this visit ❄️⛷️ ⁣ ⁣ Time is flying but we’re finding ways to savour this winter season, enjoying the short, cold days before spring is on its way. #hcfphotocontest2026 this fluffy yuzu creation from @levelvbakery was top notch ✨ a couple weeks ago I did a hot chocolate fest crawl and we got five drinks in one day, starting with this one. I’m only now catching up on posting and I believe this drink is no longer available which is too bad because it was so good. Hot Chocolate Festival 2026 Stop 13: @whiskmatchayvr •••• Sneaking in before their first @hotchocolatefest flavour disappeared, we rushed to Whisk about 10 minutes before closing and said we had to try the Umaji-mura — The Yuzu Forest. This was a white chocolate matcha latte with yuzu-infused whipped cream and yuzu drizzle for a really fun *zing* to complement the sweeter drink. I love Whisk and @levelvbakery ‘s creations because they are not only delicious (and vegan) but also so beautiful! And the café is so cozy and cute, and I always seem to be squishing into their single-seat booth with someone near and dear to me. I am excited to try the next flavour!
