For group A’s third week at @thequeeroff we had to design and execute three different movie/tv show-related looks for our streaming ball challenge! The second category was “munchies” aka anything food-related. I decided I wanted to do a look inspired by food waste as a physical critique of how much perfectly good food often goes to waste in our capitalistic hellscape (SOMEBODY CALL ME THE WOKER) and also to be so real making three whole looks was EXPENSIVE so i had to get crafty lol
I made the mask I’m wearing out of various photos of classical horror creatures I admire! For me, this represented decay of not only food, but also film/tv caused by big corporations like Netflix and other streaming services. I also have just been dying to get grosser and more creature-esque with my drag, and this mask really pulled it together for me :D

Hello hi, vulnerable post! Ew!
This weekend I got to finally perform this number! It’s one I’ve been ideating on for a while, but have been scared to actually bring to a stage. As a nonbinary/genderfluid person, I struggle a lot with dysphoria. Growing up I didn’t rly understand my queerness which resulted in a lot of pent up anger/repression. Getting to release some of this anger, fear, and frustration was so cathartic and epic and awesome

Huge shoutout to @bigdelta28 for playing a major role in helping construct this look. He turned a shitty blazer and some random fabric into this insane suit (he even lined the pants with sequin fabric…like come on)
And thank you to my friends who helped me make my papers & made this process fun!!! Competing in a competition is so stressful, but I love how much it’s been pushing me to think outside my usual box

FUNNY BONE!
For Group A’s week two at @thequeeroff we had to compete in the “Mx. Gay Prune Juice Pageant” - a mock pageant for the elderly. This theme was very out of my comfort zone, but I’m grateful for it because it gave me Funny Bone! A washed up circus clown who is honestly terrible at what he does, but that man never gives up even though everyone wishes he would.
He has a love hate relationship with the movie The Greatest Showman, he gets really anxious when he has to talk to the cashier at the grocery store, he’s the worst coworker you could ever have though he tries his best not to be, and he truly cares about his craft.
While he may have died during his talent portion at the pageant, he still managed to win first place and I’m really proud of him. I hope he can one day make a return.

Starting out calm and ending with me shaking, convulsing, and eventually throwing up green sequins, this look was cathartic! Yay art yayyyyyyy
