For our first challenge we were tasked to give our best talent and showcase ourselves for the first time. I went back and forth over this talent but thought to write a poem. I fought myself over my talent, and I feared being vulnerable and doing something out of my comfort zone. But Performance art means a lot to me. I wanted to showcase something new for myself and it meant the world to be able to have a stage to tell the story.

My runway look was inspired by a mix of 80s fashion, specifically the “power dressing” trend of women’s office wear was they stepped into the corporate workforce and wanted to let everyone know they were there to take up space>:)) It was such a fun look and I might just do it again

FUNNY BONE!
For Group A’s week two at @thequeeroff we had to compete in the “Mx. Gay Prune Juice Pageant” - a mock pageant for the elderly. This theme was very out of my comfort zone, but I’m grateful for it because it gave me Funny Bone! A washed up circus clown who is honestly terrible at what he does, but that man never gives up even though everyone wishes he would.
He has a love hate relationship with the movie The Greatest Showman, he gets really anxious when he has to talk to the cashier at the grocery store, he’s the worst coworker you could ever have though he tries his best not to be, and he truly cares about his craft.
While he may have died during his talent portion at the pageant, he still managed to win first place and I’m really proud of him. I hope he can one day make a return.
Shoutout to my dresser @bigdelta28 for making this clown suit and helping me film this backstory montage HAHAH
