Iโ€™ve spent the last couple of weeks developing a new way of working with colorโ€”using various fillers to create chromatic intensity in layers. This piece is the first I made in this new way of working. This new series makes me feel like Iโ€™m embarking on an exploration into my stream of consciousnessโ€”much like staring up at the sky and imagining how clouds form different animistic shapes. Iโ€™m excited to see how the next few pieces will play out! Iโ€™m also super excited to show yall the spectrum of color and texture Iโ€™ve developedโ€”but all I have for now is a small closeup in the second slide. I canโ€™t wait to paint more of these on larger paintings and push the boundaries of what color can do! More updates soon. If u wanna see what Iโ€™m up to hmu for a studio visit :) ๐™๐™๐™ง๐™š๐™š ๐˜ฝ๐™š๐™–๐™ง๐™จ Pigments, oil, egg yolk, beeswax, chalk, silica, mica on Repurposed Linen 9x12โ€ #oilpainting #imaginarylandscape #contemporaryart #magicalrealism

This has been a long and brutal winterโ€”in anticipation of Spring hereโ€™s a piece inspired by my first visit to the new croton dam last fall. Looking forward to Spring and hoping to get some longer bike rides in, and discovering more local landscapes in the process. ๐‘ซ๐’‚๐’Ž๐’” ๐’‚๐’๐’… ๐‘จ๐’’๐’–๐’†๐’…๐’–๐’„๐’•๐’” Handmade Oil Paint consisting of various pigments, drying oils, beeswax, and damar on repurposed linen 18x24โ€

Posting in the spirit of the Lunar New Year a piece fresh from the studio. For a long time Iโ€™ve been fond of using highly saturated yellows in my paintings and this one is no different, except this has a bit of a celebratory and sparkly vibe. ๐Ÿงจโœจ This was painted based of an old โ€œlighthouseโ€ in Singapore. I canโ€™t remember where it was. The image is on the last slideโ€”if you know pls comment โค๏ธ A happy horse year to all ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŽ‰ ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’† ๐‘ณ๐’Š๐’ˆ๐’‰๐’•๐’‰๐’๐’–๐’”๐’† Various pigments, linseed, walnut and poppy drying oils, tempera, dammar and beeswax on repurposed linen. 18x24โ€

I am honored to be included in La Banda 2026 at Tappeto Volante Gallery. There are so many artists whose work I admireโ€”working in color and material in radical ways, narratives revolving around myth and personal histories that have shown at @tvprojects.bk . To be able to show alongside them is a dream come true! Tappeto Volante has truly been a pillar of community support and I have been looking forward to this show! Please join me for the opening on Feb 10. I am grateful to be included in the show!

Really happy that these two paintings are part of the group show ๐™๐™ฃ๐™—๐™ง๐™ž๐™™๐™ก๐™š๐™™: ๐™ƒ๐™ค๐™ง๐™จ๐™ž๐™ฃ ๐˜ผ๐™ง๐™ค๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™™ at @latitudegallery_newyork . Please join me for the opening reception this Wednesday! My paintings begin with abstract gestures and pure color. My drifting thoughts and subconscious rumination conjure various landscapes and creatures, amongst them the horseโ€”a creature that has been infinitely imagined yet remained deeply grounded. The horse is a symbol that is prevalent across almost all culturesโ€”join me as we celebrate the chaotic, turbulent, mystical and majestic nature of this creature. Hey friends! Iโ€™ve come up with a catalog of small works that I have available. A couple of these found new homes over the last year which Iโ€™m super grateful for so I thought Iโ€™d go out on a limb here. Check out the link in bio if youโ€™re interested in collecting my work! These are small enough to ship mostly anywhere. Theyโ€™re a selection from the series of work I made with handmade paints (Fractured Landscapes) and Monotypes (In the Lost City) that I spent the better part of last year working on. Also have a couple of shows coming up that Iโ€™m really excited to tell yโ€™all about. Thank you, much love to all of you, and canโ€™t wait! Handmade paint with various pigments, drying oils, beeswax, resins, on repurposed linen 8x11โ€

First post of the yearโ€”sending yโ€™all some light ๐ŸŒž: Lately Iโ€™ve been thinking about how much I miss tropical sunshine. So many of the painting mediums I have gotten accustomed to using in my earlier, formative years were made by long exposure to sunlight back in my tropical studio. That feeling is both nostalgic and bittersweet. When I started paintmaking last year, it brought me much joy to discover how these mediums imparted a unique edge to some of my handmade paints. I canโ€™t wait to tell you all more about my discoveries and the stuff Iโ€™m experimenting on. I painted this piece a couple weeks back and been wanting to save it for a holiday post. Sometimes the best paintings surprise me with their unintentional resemblance. In this instance I never thought itโ€™d be snow. Iโ€™m pleasantly surprised by the glow of that ultramarine blue and the accompanying daubs of yellow. It made me think of Matthew Wong and his last show titled โ€˜Blueโ€™, and how specks of soft yellow or white would peek through varying shades of blue on his canvasses. Still, a good painting must surprise me. This piece was finished a couple of days before the first snow here. And Iโ€™m pleasantly surprised by how the ultramarine (now violet) made me think of snow capped houses interspersed amongst rolling hills, forming some sort of landscape. Happy Holidays! ๐‘ญ๐’Š๐’“๐’”๐’• ๐‘บ๐’๐’๐’˜ 18x24โ€ Handmade paint consisting of various pigments, linseed and poppy oil, beeswax on repurposed linen.
