Okay, we promise this is the last post about The New York Times review… but we had to share one more moment of joy! 🗞️💥
Keiko stopped by the gallery yesterday, and we were flooded with visitors celebrating her and the show. It’s been incredibly moving to witness the community come together with such generosity and enthusiasm. 💛
We’re forever grateful for the support and blessings we’re experiencing.
✨ Somewhere… is on view through August 10 — don’t miss your chance to see it!

Still a little hungover from last night’s celebration… but what a reason to toast! 🥂
We’re beyond proud to share that Keiko Narahashi’s @keiko_nara_hashi solo exhibition “Somewhere…” at Tappeto Volante has been featured in The New York Times @nytimes as one of the must-see shows in NYC this July! 🗽✨
Endless gratitude to Martha Schwendener for venturing down to Gowanus, spending time with the work, and writing such a generous review. We are truly honored.
Choosing to be off the beaten path has always been about supporting artists and staying true to our vision—and especially in times like this, simply being able to open our doors feels like a triumph. Recognition like this reminds us that integrity, persistence, and love for the work matter. ❤️
Thank you first and foremost to Keiko, for giving us the opportunity to present her stunning work for a second solo exhibition at the gallery. ❤️Grazie!
And heartfelt thanks to our incredible entourage:
🙏 Johnny, @bo_yuan_yang for his invaluable help at the gallery
📸 Sam and Sofi @ocean_studios_nyc for the beautiful images
🌀 Jared @jareddeery for always standing by my side
💛 JJ and Elisa, our emotional backbone @jjmanford@elisasg___
🔧 Sam @samberliner for his help in building the dream set!
This is a milestone for Tappeto Volante—as I like to say, the Fugazi of the NYC art scene. Thank you for believing in us, Gowanus soldiers of venture!⛵️
We love you all. 🚀

Explore multimedia artist Keiko Narahashi’s (@keiko_nara_hashi ) solo booth with Tappeto Volante Projects (@tappetovolantegallery ) at NADA (@newartdealers ).
Playful yet deeply complex, her ceramics “spring from a conviction that forms carry emotional and psychological meaning. These shapes waver between human and nonhuman, figure and landscape, and reflect [her] particular connection to the natural world.”
Although she makes sculptural objects, she “often thinks in picture planes like a painter.”

Thank you, Victoria Pokovba, for your perceptive writing - I love this: ‘The ability to continually alter the faces becomes a reflection on expression as something fluid, evolving over time rather than fixed.’ Thank you, Victoria and Whitewall Magazine.

✨
After five incredible years of building a community in Brooklyn, we are deeply thankful for every artist, curator, collector, neighbor, and friend who has contributed to Tappeto Volante Projects and helped shape it into what it is today. What started as an act of resilience has transformed into something far more significant than we ever imagined.
Tonight, we are thrilled to debut in Manhattan alongside @oolongallery in a shared space on the lower level of @shrine.nyc — a venue that has been a longstanding ally and supporter of ours — as well as the brand new project space @marge.gallery
This expansion is not a departure; it is a continuation. Brooklyn remains at the heart of our identity, and we warmly invite the community we've built over these past five years to celebrate this moment with us.

🎉We are up and running🎉
NADA New York | May 13 – 17 | Booth C11
Opening May 13th
💥
NADA New York opens to the public today, Wednesday, May 13, from 4–7pm at the Starrett-Lehigh building.
We are pleased to participate in this year’s edition of NADA New York with a solo booth by Keiko Narahashi.
For this presentation, in Booth C11, Narahashi will realize an immersive, site-specific installation that transforms the booth into a spatial environment. A system of wooden platforms will structure the space, creating a microcosm in which her ceramic works engage in dialogue with architecture, light, and the viewer’s movement. The installation invites the audience to enter and inhabit the work, dissolving the boundary between object and environment.

💥 Wednesday Works on Paper! 💥
We are excited to present the first artwork by Chao Wang, selected by guest curator Marie Anine Møller.
Chao Wang is a contemporary artist based in Gowanus, whose practice explores microsystems shaped by fungi and insects—forms of life that exist at the edge of human perception yet quietly sustain the world. Wang’s art delves into the strangeness and intellectual beauty of the natural environment, drawing inspiration from science fiction and surrealist art. He is particularly attracted to unexpected and unusual elements, especially the shapes and textures of organic objects.
