As IPI’s Art for Peace initiative comes to a close, we want to acknowledge everyone who took a moment to write a wish and place it on Yoko Ono’s WISH TREE.
🌿Over the past weeks, our terrace has been filled with messages of hope, resilience, and simple reminders of what peace means to people in their everyday lives.
🎤Thanks to @lenacole ‘s wonderful voice, the atmosphere felt even more special and deeply connected to the spirit of the project.
🕊️These wishes will now be sent to Yoko Ono’s IMAGINE PEACE TOWER in Reykjavík, Iceland, where they will become part of a larger, ongoing installation. In joining this global project, they carry a piece of our community and reflect IPI’s commitment to dialogue, understanding, and the human side of building peace.

I wish I was surprised
I wish I was taken aback
I wish I was jostled out of my chains
Instead, I woefully rest my head. Knowing, kneading and prodding, where do we go from here? From the deadened silence inside of my body who knows the echo chambers of the societal structures we live within. We have been living with, in side a labyrinth leading to nowhere. The only other thing is everything. The only other way is beauty, and the gifts that color, creation and expression offer to us. The gentle receiving of a motion of safety, a nudge of longing, a whisper of belonging. Dreaming of a world where creation is at the center. Human right to choice made through one’s experience. To sculpt, paint, write, draw, speak, dance, and stand for the depth of their view… perspective and breadth of each person’s own internal frame of reference. Growth will always be possible, as being alive on earth offers to each of us drops of evolution as our eyes drift to sleep. Continuing to wake in this collective space we all inhabit. Breathing into being ways that hold compassion, and understanding. Openness and curiosity towards what is unknown to us. What is diverse in all manners of being, for diversity is what allows forests, oceans, and populations to thrive. As people of this shared planet may we open to possibility, that through learning to respect each other and allow for personal choice particularly regarding the oh so sacred human body, we may empower a new reality. For the world that gives more access and agency to a fucking gun than the female womb is irrevocably over. Here’s to the long walk to freedom, one many along the way have persistently pushed on, and to the many more who will join in the pursuit… with responsibility to uphold the sanctity of life above all things. Announcing this project to you all has meant the world to us these last few days. For almost a year we’ve been sculpting, dreaming and being with this art, and it is an absolute joy to share it! So excited as well to be organizing gathering spaces in the city to experience it together! This project represents a tool, that combines color, breath and form to create a state of coherence between internal and external worlds. It has a subtle yet beautiful medicine, and this art piece will fund a design studio that Daniel and @jacksterpiece have been creating for years called @luminance.one ~ and they will continue to develop the work and cross into research fields and hospitals as they dive deeper into the field of heart rate variability. This term is what the art piece measures, and is what changes the colors and shapes in real time. It has taken a beautiful team and dedicated people to bring this forth in this way, and it’s amazing to feel such how passionate everyone who has experienced it already is about Chrysanthemum. It is such a gift to witness this come to fruition and be on the journey for how it will evolve. Grateful to all the hands and hearts joining together to bring this art into the world!

Dumping the only photos I have of some of the incredible beings from this week. The faces, places and muses of this time. So many not pictured, largely because I ditched my phone as much as possible in order to be as present as I could be. The cultural diversity of Art Basel felt so refreshing to be immersed within, and I can’t wait for a time where the division of bodies being able to gather and commune will be lifted. Miami was truly a pilar and incredible experience of how free we truly can be (in all ways)! The global representation of artists and disparate dialogues alike created a sense of restoration to the path being walked by all beings. If we can truly commune around the uplifting of ALL voices, this world can be such a beautiful place. This week is just a taste of what’s to come, and if we can continue down the road of true expression we can create a beautiful and uncanny world. If anyone is in need of communal nourishment please reach out, for it is truly why we are here and why we are human! It takes a village…and I want to shout out to so many of the people whose hands and hearts put so much work into making this week possible. So much praise to every production and service crew around the city who busted ass to make all this magic happen. Hopefully next year and in the coming times we can create more balanced systems of creation so that integration between served and service can become a smoother reality. As I’ve been saying for quite a while, 2020 was the year of the pod and 2021 is the year of the cluster fuck. Feels so good to expand these circles and open to new possibilities.
