Dorian is a hedonistic denizen of the Green Carnation, obsessed with surfaces, beauty, and himself. After being painted by Basil, he gains eternal youth and a supernatural lightness, even as his soul darkens. He leaves a trail of broken hearts — Sibyl, Basil, Valentin — and meets a tragic end when he tries, and fails, to compel Basil to repaint the portrait that bears his corruption.
From the beginning, our goal with Dorian was to uncover his humanity, especially early on, and to track his evolution from someone vain and conflicted to something far more monstrous.
Carved by

@derektabada , Dorian’s fantasy in the boxing ring and the stables was one of the show’s most intense sequences, developed as early as 2020 but only fully realized once the stables were constructed at the start of rehearsal.
@leggybones and
@derektabada vaulted over walls and lifted each other while hanging from the rafters — it was truly epic to experience.
