The Oregon Coast is quite a different experience from the California beaches I grew up with. Where California beaches offer steady weather, palm trees and beach towns, the Oregon Coast offers an experience more exposed to the elements and more immersed in nature.
There is a remote beauty to the Oregon Coast. One that reveals itself through the weathered rocks, dense forests, and vulnerability to the weather.
For this mix I chose to focus on that connection to the forces of nature. The track selection flutters between sunny, beachy and melodic themes with spikes of grittier, colder techno to highlight the natural beauty and contrast it against the unpredictable, unsheltered nature of the Oregon Coast.

An introduction: Left Off Burnside is a DJ project based out of Portland, Oregon and created by Joey Guslani who previously DJed under the name Bugieman.
Through this project I will be releasing concept DJ mixes that reflect upon locations within the Portland Area and Pacific Northwest.
For an introductory mix I've built a set that reflects upon my experience with Rocky Butte, a lovely spot where I go to catch some quiet reading time with sweeping views of the Columbia River, Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, and downtown Portland.
I hope that listening to this mix can give any listeners the peace of mind I feel when I am in this beautiful place.
