but we’re not glum! Spring means the return of the Common Tern to it’s summer breeding ground in the Lee Valley. Our Biodiversity team have been preparing the Turn Rafts for their arrival and this year are looking to install two more rafts on Seventy Acres Lake.
If you head to Fisher Green over the summer, you might catch a glimpse of these nesting birds along with is resident noisy neighbour, the Black Headed Gull 🪺

Happy 15th Birthday @leevalleywwc 🎈🎁
Our Olympic venue opened it's doors to the public 15 years ago today - and the only purpose build London 2012 venue to open before the games too! 60 children from Holdbrook Primary School joined the party with double Olympic bronze medallist and six time world champion @kimberleywoods watching the action.
She told @greatesthitsuk and @bbc3cr : “It’s great to see first timers pick up a paddle and enjoy getting out on the water. We’re so lucky to have the best white water centre in the world on our doorstep. I’ve been here 10 years and it’s just got better and better.”
