⚠️ A resident has reported receiving an email claiming they will have a home visit to check smoke alarms, with a £500 charge for homes without a working alarm.
This is a scam and we would never charge to carry out a home fire safety visit.

Phone 999 for help if someone is in trouble in the water. Never enter the water to attempt a rescue.
Tell them to Float on their back.
Throw them something that floats. This can be lifesaving equipment, such as a throwline, but anything that floats can help save a life.

Out in Meru County, Kenya this month, our prevention officer Zoe Crossan joined colleagues from @bucksfirerescue , @scas_999 and @eastenglandamb to support vital water safety work as part of the NFCC's Be Water Aware Campaign.

Cheshunt Blue Watch recently supported a Water Safety Assembly at John Warner in Hoddesdon as part of the Robbie Lea Water Safety Partnership.

Today we join fire services across the world in marking Firefighters Memorial Day.
We will be observing a minute’s silence at midday to remember those who have lost their lives in the line of duty, to recognise the courage and commitment of firefighters globally and to reflect on the sacrifices made serving our communities.
🎉 We’re delighted to announce a major achievement! 🎉
The Fire Control Collaboration between Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk Fire and Rescue Services has won a Fire Resilience Excellence Award (FREAs) for Outstanding Partnership/Collaboration.

Even on the warmest days, our rivers and lakes stay surprisingly cold. That shock can hit your body hard — making it suddenly difficult to swim or even breathe properly.
If you’re getting into the water, don’t jump in. Take it slow, give your body time to adjust, and stay in control.
And if you ever accidentally fall in:
➡️ Fight the urge to panic
➡️ Tilt your head back
➡️ Spread your arms and legs
➡️ Float… breathe… and regain control
Be Water Aware.
As we launch our water safety campaign, Chief Fire Officer Alex Woodman shares simple ways to stay safe near water this summer.
If you’re out and about on local routes, remember to:
📱 Keep your mobile phone charged
🚶 Give the water’s edge plenty of space
🛤️ Stick to clearly marked paths
🌙 Avoid dark or poorly lit routes
Be water aware. Stay safe.
