Last spring, I on-set dressed a powerful and moving doc for production designer @violetoven — HEIGHTENED SCRUTINY — directed by @samfeder_1. Premiering earlier this year @sundanceorg, @heightenedscrutiny follows ACLU attorney @chasestrangio’s landmark battle to the Supreme Court to overturn Tennessee’s ban on transgender adolescents’ life-saving healthcare. The doc goes further by framing Strangio’s case (United States v. Skrmetti) in a larger context, as 20+ artists, academics, lawyers, and journalists argue the ways in which biased media fuels the wave of anti-trans sentiment and legislation, ultimately threatening democracy itself.
