I passed this kid on the way home from work. Had seconds to ask him if I could take a picture. Didnât give him any directions because he could clearly read my mind. Took a couple of shots on my phone, waved thank you before the door closed and that was that.
I still wish I could go back and take this on film.
I always dreamed of being the kind of photographer who gets up close and personal and catches the moment mid-action but with every new roll, I've come to realize that I'm not that kind of photographer and probably never will be. I guess you could call my photography "quiet photographyâ. I am the silent spectator watching people move through their daily lives, not inserting myself into their day. I capture the world they live in, the eccentricities of the things and textures that they surround themselves with. I'm the fly on the wall. With a camera.
