🕯️Would you offer an AI model to your ancestors?🕯️ 𝔇𝔦𝔤𝔦𝔱𝔞𝔩 𝔙𝔞𝔩𝔲𝔢 𝔒𝔣𝔣𝔢𝔯𝔦𝔫𝔤𝔰 is an interactive AR altar inspired by various East Asian ancestral offering practices. Could contemporary values in the digital space be translated as currencies of value for modern offerings? Today’s notion of convenience, comfort, and luxury are heavily intertwined with technology: generating prompts on Al, ordering food through apps, and studying viral reel formulas. The ornate altar set as a formal ritual serves to juxtapose the absurd elements of value naming and signaling in today’s digital world prescribed by efficient consumption and capitalism. The sentimentals of tradition do not suffice with cut fruits, photos, and memories, but now hinge on immediate satisfaction to click, consume, and cash out. ❤️‍🔥So much gratitude to @grayareaorg and @local.memory for the opportunity to share my piece and all who made this work possible.
