Ebola is a rare but serious viral disease that can cause severe illness in humans It spreads through direct contact with infected blood or body fluids. It is not spread through the air, which means outbreaks can be controlled with the right public health measures. Early symptoms can look like flu (fever, fatigue, muscle pain), but it can quickly become life-threatening, leading to vomiting, diarrhoea and, in some cases, internal bleeding. Ebola has a high fatality rate but understanding diseases like Ebola isn’t about fear. It is about awareness, prevention, and global health responsibility. #GlobalHealth #Ebola #PublicHealth #HealthEducation #InfectiousDiseases

SPF isn’t just for holiday. Skin cancer is the #1 most common type of cancer in the UK. (Royal Marsden) The disease is up to 90% preventable by regularly practising sun safety, making it one of the most avoidable cancers. (Melanoma Focus survey, 2024) The NHS currently spends around £750m per year treating skin cancer. (BAD). Skin cancer is the UK’s most common cancer - so why are we taxed to prevent it? The ‘cosmetic’ VAT on lifesaving sunscreen products makes no sense and should be axed without delay. This Skin Cancer Awareness Month, I’m joining @jessicazwebster in calling on the Chancellor for change. Add your support at change.org/axethespftax Pictured is @p20_uk . I’m a factor 50 girl. Whatever the brand there should be NO TAX added!! #AXEtheSPFtax #SkinCancerAwarenessMonth

It’s can be hard to get a GP appointment. But I don’t think you should blame a profession for the system not working properly. To everyone sharing and commenting and remixing the post- you are doing exactly what is intended by rage bait. Stop doing that and support the pharmacists on here by liking, commenting and sharing their posts!! #PharmacistThorrun #Healthcarelawyer

Lived my best life with Elena @cooking_italy__ . Booked last min with @getyourguide In Rome, food felt less like a transaction and more like preventative healthcare. Fresh ingredients, slower meals, walking between every destination, smaller portions that still satisfy, espresso breaks instead of energy drinks, and a culture that actually protects time for eating. We had a cookery class where we made pasta and tiramisu and I can honestly say this is one of the best things I have booked abroad (at last minute too!!) As a pharmacist, it’s fascinating seeing how lifestyle is woven into daily life here. movement, connection, sunshine, routine and food that doesn’t need a long ingredient list. The “Roman diet” isn’t about perfection or restriction; it’s about sustainability, balance, and enjoyment. Maybe public health conversations should spend a little more time around the dinner table 🍝🇮🇹☀️ #ootd @official_yumi #PublicHealth #LifestyleMedicine #Pharmacist PreventativeHealth LaDolceVita

About 90 percent of nonmelanoma skin cancers are preventable and not all AI is the same. Great to catch up with healthcare colleagues for a panel discussion hosted by @larocheposay x @chelwestft . We heard about how a class lll medical device is being used to support dermatology patients. With my pharmacist hat on- I was intrigued to see how this might be used in pharmacy. As a healthcare lawyer who supports clients with medical device regulatory advice, I was even more intrigued! People think AI is ChatGPT but there are very much ranges of AI and different levels of scrutiny that they undergo. A class III device is highly regulated- lots of hoops to jump through to be able to support patients. Pictured: @dralexgeorge @kiran.morjaria @doctorazmain @pharmacistvirginia @jessicazwebster Big thanks @sophkinnear Lots more friends who it was lovely to see. I’m going to miss someone out because my brain is tired. 🙈 #pharmacist #health #wellbeing #skincancer axethetax
