4/27/26 Rosemead and Gabrielino High School Walk out for the lack of protection against sexual assault and ICE activity in the SGV.
@cityofrosemead@myelmonte not one person from city hall came out to support or even ask. They continue to ignore my comments but post and respond to other people. Shame.
@lavaacommunity@sgvvillage showed up to support the students with food, water, and aid the BARE minimum. LAVAA assisted in change of plans from walking to LA City Hall to Rosemead City Hall and high school.
Please everyone pay attention to who you vote for. Both mayors from El Monte and Rosemead are all talk- please prove me wrong but I am exhausted of these fake profit over people mayors taking advantage of our community.
I am tired of rape culture and being a Rosemead Almuni just makes me disappointed. I was a tri-athlete and was always involved with my educational experience so I expected some teammates/ coaches / teachers to at least reach out or start a movement on their own. it’s disheartening seeing how desensitized Rosemead has become. But I have hope and felt the passion/rage from these students fed up with being abused. I cry as in type this but you all really fuel my fire. I just want you to have an equitable education because school is already hard on its own. These same s/an allegations came out when I was a senior 2019 and date back to when my mom was also in school. All these pedophiles will be held accountable- we know your names.
This is not normal. We are so proud of the 12 students that exercised their rights because it is scary and we will do it scared. Even if there was just one student - your voice matters. I’m so sorry you aren’t listened to but LAVAA and SGV Village will not tolerate silence because we will never be complicit in genocide and need justice for all survivors.
Be kind and take care, lock in as your education is important and should always be a safe space ❤️🩹
