Today’s mission is more than just a reminder of the strong partnership between the US Attorney, DEA, and the LAPD; it’s an affirmation that the Federal Government’s enforcement of drug eradication in our City is back.
By joining forces with the LAPD’s Gang and Narcotics and Rampart Division personnel, together we developed a strategy to identify street-level dealers and the complex suppliers providing them with narcotics.
Through our collaborative work, investigators successfully identified three individuals responsible for supplying multi-kilogram quantities of fentanyl and multi-pound quantities of methamphetamine for distribution in MacArthur Park.
Additionally, investigators identified twenty-two more individuals involved in narcotics trafficking activities, as well as multiple locations involved in the drug trafficking operations.
The goal of this operation was to eliminate dangerous, deadly drug activity and return this beautiful park to where it belongs- the people and families of Los Angeles.
During his last visit to Washington, D.C. for National Police Week, Lieutenant Craig Lally was honored for his dedication, leadership, and service to the LAPD community. Standing alongside Chief McDonnell and LAPD personnel, the President of the Los Angeles Police Protective League was recognized for a career committed to protecting officers, strengthening communities, and advancing the mission of public safety.
Thank you Craig Lally for your lasting impact and years of service. Your legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
This week, @lapdpolicechief McDonnell and LAPD personnel visited Washington DC to honor National Police Week, an observance to honor those brave enough to wear the badge. While we highlight our officers around the nation, we remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and died serving their communities.
Another outstanding arrest by LAPD Rampart! On the evening of Thursday May 14, 2026, Rampart Narcotics Detectives conducted an operation along the 600 block of Alvarado across from MacArthur Park. Officers observed activity consistent with narcotic sales, which led to officers detaining five individuals who were also employees of the businesses. During the investigation, fentanyl, prescription medication, and a large amount of U.S. currency was seized. Five suspects were arrested for 11351 H&S – Possession for sale of fentanyl and 11375(B)(1) H&S – Possession for sale of prescription medication. Outstanding work by all involved. Rampart Narcotics Detectives will continue to work with our federal partners at the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to combat narcotics sales and keep our communities safe in and around MacArthur Park. 🏰🏰

Thank you @nbcla for inviting me to discuss several important public safety issues impacting our communities—a large-scale drug operation in MacArthur Park, with our federal partners, to remove deadly drugs from our streets; our efforts to dismantle organized burglary crews, with the arrest of a serial burglar connected to more than twenty burglaries throughout the City; and, LAPD funding and staffing for the 2028 Olympics.
