Returned to my AD days - this time for a K-drama shoot in Singapore.
My Korean was severely tested (😳 wasn’t exactly hired as an on-set interpreter) but it definitely inspired me to work harder.
한국어를 더 잘하고 싶어서 더 열심히 연습할게~!
Beyond that, it was challenging, exhausting, yet fun. Loved getting a first-hand look at how a Korean production operates, while meeting so many new people along the way.

Truth is: we all have careers, families, financial pressures, our own lives to manage. And yet, here we are - running events, workshops, panels, advocacy, education - as volunteers, armed with the belief that this work matters.
Our hearts are in the right place. But our capacity is often limited. And that gap is something I struggle with constantly.
Why do I do this? Why do we do this?
I don’t have a clear answer. But I don’t think I can just sit back, do nothing, and hope for change either.

What does it take to sustain an art practice in South Korea today?
As part of the Creative Connections: Korea–Singapore Exchange Project, I’ll be joining Arielle @arielle.lau_ Michael @leehonghwee and Wan Sze @re_wind_ing for a public sharing session on 24 Feb (Tue), 7:30PM at 42 Waterloo Street (Black Box).
We’ll be reflecting on how artistic practices are sustained within South Korea’s visual and performing arts ecosystems - and how access, support, and collaboration are shaped across borders and disciplines.
Personally, I will be sharing on my pet topic: how does South Korea sustain its performing artists - and what lessons can Singapore draw from its policies, institutions, and cultural ecosystem?
Admission is free. This is a hybrid session: in-person & online.

This was my third time doing a Story Walk - and each time, I find something new about this city I call home.
Last Saturday, we wandered through the CBD, discovering hidden stories through contemporary artworks. What emerged were layers of memory, quiet contemplation, and shared noticing.
