Curating, for me, is an act of care ✨ As I continue to grow into my practice as an independent curator, my focus remains on creating conceptually rigorous exhibitions that elevate artists and make space for meaningful connection. I feel grateful to have worked in close, collaborative dialogue with artists and cultural practitioners across projects such as “Yo vengo de todas partes y hacia todas partes voy” by Amanda Linares (@amandallinares ), “A landscape longed for: The garden as disturbance” co-curated with Adler Guerrier (@adlerguerrier ), and “Good Times,” Chris Friday’s (@chrisfriday.art ) solo exhibition. Each has deeply shaped my thinking and brought a distinct sense of purpose and joy to this work. That ongoing commitment now brings me to a project I’m especially proud to share: co-curating the South Florida Cultural Consortium (SFCC) (@soflculturalconsortium ) exhibition at @mocanomi alongside Kimari Jackson (@kimjack ). Together, we’re working with 15 regional artists, building a space for both artistic exchange and community to gather, connect, and reflect 🌿 Join us on April 15 for the opening celebration alongside MOCA’s 30th Anniversary 🎉 RSVP with link in bio 🔗 — 📸Credits: Photo 1: @neutralroomstudio Photo 2: @worldredeye Photo 3: @michaelmlopezfotos1 Photo 4: @bfa Photo 5: Courtesy of @crispellertart Photo 6: @jenclay

Yesterday was my last day at @bakehouseartcomplex . Seven years have come and gone and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to have been in community with some incredible artists and to have worked alongside wonderful people. My heart is full. All I can say is thank you. 💜 — Photo by @pedrowazzan .

First day ➡️ last day vibes of @culture_gouv ’s Courants du Monde program, which wrapped up last week. For the past eight days, we explored third places — hybrid physical spaces that fuse culture, creativity, mutual aid, inclusion, and space rehabilitation. Still reflecting on all that we learned and encountered. 🌍💡 As we said in our group statement on the last day: “The program challenged us to think beyond the conventional…to imagine cultural infrastructure not as institutions or buildings alone, but as living, breathing responses to community need.” A shout-out to our fearless guide, Alice Parlanti, and to our Ministry of Culture liaisons, Laurence Faux and Clotilde Lecoeur, for organizing this experience. Grateful to the ten spaces in Paris and throughout the Nouvelle Acquitaine region for their hospitality and openness: @l_accordeur , @cesure.paris , @festival_chahuts , @lecubegarges , @fablab.la.verriere , @la_gare_mondiale , @la_maison_forte , @makeici_org , @le_sample_bagnolet , and @le_shakirail . 🌟🇫🇷 Most importantly, thank you to the fourteen amazing people that shared this experience with me: Andreas Blom, @jackgbourke , @carew.michelle , Miguel Galvão, Xiaoxin Gui, @huotarikai , Daniella Huszár, @kanwalkhoosat , Odil Mukhamedov, @kelechiofoegbu , Connie Spreen, @david_tuganov , and @sab_va . ♥️

✨ Back in Paris for a month-long cultural exchange! ✨ 🇫🇷 First, I’ll be participating in Courants du Monde, a program organized by the French Ministry of Culture (@culture_gouv ), that explores cultural third places and innovative models. Big thanks to Rafaël Trapp, Cónsul General of France in Miami, Nicolas Doyard (@nicodoy ), Cultural Attaché and Director of Villa Albertine (@villa.albertine ) in Miami, and Cathy Leff, Executive Director of Bakehouse Art Complex (@bakehouseartcomplex ) for their support! 🎨 Then, I’ll in residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts (@citedesartsparis ), where I’ll be learning from their staff, connecting with artists, and curating their open studio event on April 9th! Grateful to Bénédicte Alliot (@alliotbenedicte ), Director General, Vincent Gonzalvez (@vincent.gonzalvez ), Head of the Residency Department, and their wonderful team for making this opportunity a reality! 🪨🪨🪨 Amanda Linares: Yo vengo de todas partes, y hacia todas partes voy | Curated by Laura Novoa Amanda Linares’ immersive, site-specific installation Yo vengo de todas partes, y hacia todas partes voy centers around notions of belonging and identity, recurrent themes in her practice that she explores through the intentional use of materials. Ideated and inspired by her discovery of a house in Asturias, Spain belonging to her paternal great grandfather, Linares’ installation is a highly personal exploration of her family history and ancestry, and how unearthing parts of our past can shape and complicate our understanding of who we are and where we come from. Using a verse from Cuban poet and philosopher José Martí’s poem, “Yo soy un hombre sincero” as the title, through her installation, Linares considers the complexities of the immigrant experience, while simultaneously emphasizing our shared humanity. Like the individual stones that make up her great grandfather’s house, we are connected by something intrinsic and indispensable, something larger than ourselves. - Text by Laura Novoa @laudsn 📝 Photos by @mlopezfotos1 🤎 • • • This installation was made possible with the support from Oolite Arts @oolitearts , Miami-Dade County @miamidadearts , and the Coral Gables Community Foundation @coralgablescf ✨ • Piero Atchugarry 📍 Sep 21 - Nov 2 5520 NE 4th Ave, Miami, FL 33137 • • • #progressiveartbrunch #soloexhibition #immersiveinstallation #sitespecific #pieroatchugarry #oolitearts #miamidadedepartmentofculturalaffairs #coralgablescommunityfoundation #performance #amandallinares
