@transmission_towers join the effortlessly cool MANR at The Whitaker lineup on Saturday evening at The Whitaker
Mark Kyriacou and Eleanor Mante blend interplanetary electronics, stripped-back soul and deep groove, shaped by ‘80s/’90s electronic influences and a cross-cultural sonic language that feels both minimal and deeply emotive.
Their debut album, Transmission One, released in May 2024 on Luke Una’s É Soul Cultura label (Mr. Bongo), introduced their distinctive approach to electronic music, combining hypnotic rhythms, spacious production and quietly insistent vocal lines that linger long after the track ends. The record drew attention from critics and listeners for its balance of club sensibility and introspective depth.
A quietly singular presence in contemporary electronic music - don’t miss them.
"A fusion of Shabazz Palaces, Sun Ra and wonky space funk, the results are addictive.” - Mojo
"A blistering debut. The vibe here is singularly, off the wall intoxicating” - Electronic Sound Magazine
This is a free event; donations will be gratefully received.

Sunday night just got even bigger 🔥
We’re pleased to announce @weareliines joining our Sunday night lineup.
Following their appearance at Bearded Theory Festival in Derbyshire this May, the Manchester trio bring their signature blend of driving post-punk rhythms, sharp riffs, and unapologetically bold energy. Known for their fierce DIY spirit and commanding live presence, LIINES have built a reputation as one of the most compelling bands on the UK underground scene.
This is a rare appearance for the band, don’t miss the chance to catch them up close
“LIINES, a band I’ve been dying to see for so long – I finally got to see them and they lived up to every expectation. Absolutely incredible” John Kennedy, Radio X ‘X-Posure’

We’re thrilled to be partnering with @manr.thewhitaker MANR at the Whitaker Museum & Art Gallery to present the one and only @meduulla .
Meduulla is a 26-year-old Zimbabwean-born rapper and DJ from North Manchester whose sound defies labels. Blending modern flows and sharp, witty lyricism with jazz-infused hip-hop, her music feels both fresh and nostalgically rich. She first made waves as a finalist on BBC’s The Rap Game UK, quickly cementing herself as a serious talent to watch.
This is a free event; donations will be gratefully received.
Keep your eyes peeled, we’ll be announcing a second artist soon

Our closing night at St Mary's Chambers just got even better with the inclusion of Blackburn's @skyvalleymistress .
Combining ferocious fuzz guitar sounds of Queens of the Stone Age, the Stooges and Black Sabbath with the soul smoked sound of Kayley’s deep rich voice, Sky Valley Mistress take you through a range of soaring, delicate and yearning melodies between peaks of mountainous riffs and depths of granite-heavy desert rock grooves.
Defying logic with aspiration, the pair have created a live show that has to be seen to be believed...
Facing each other on stage, the Duel-Drumming Duo stand with vocalist Kayley “Hell Kitten” Davies behind one half of the kit and guitarist Max “Leather Messiah” Newsome holding onto the kick drum pedal. No samples. No backing tracks. No click tracks. No one is playing rock and roll like these two do.
