There are certain onomastics that evoke an atmospheric feeling, a sense of space. We are grateful to the master builders of the past for their love of earth and clay, and for devising the serpentine wall, showing that it is possible to provide more while using less. Our gratefulness extends today to the team that made our proposal for the Serpentine Pavilion 2026 possible: Alejandro Márquez, Genevieve Parkes, Eric Valdez, Lara Carolan, Alejandra Richard, Roy Kim, Sofía Yáñez, Luis Herrero, Francesco Fiorillo, Jorge Zaldivar, Ana Karina Zatarain and Maricris Herrera.
Thank you also to Serpentine on its 25th anniversary for inviting LANZA to this big adventure.
Head on a road trip with @lanzaatelier founders Isabel Abascal and Alessandro Arienzo!
First to Suffolk, to see historic examples of serpentine walls, a key design element of their 2026 Serpentine Pavilion.
Then to York, to visit the @stageoneltd facilities where the prototyping of the full scale components of the Pavilion took place.
The 2026 Pavilion, ‘a serpentine’, opens on 6 June.

La muestra examina a través de imágenes coloreadas a mano, vídeos, dibujos y anamorfosis, los desplazamientos mediante los cuales las fotografías de performances son reproducidas e intervenidas, adquiriendo autonomía.

Working drawings and model for the Kosovo Pavilion at the 61 Biennale d’Arte di Venezia. We are honored to be a part of Brilant Milazimi’s Hard Teeth exhibition, curated by Jose Esparza Chong-Cuy and commissioned by Hana Halilaj. This is a project that discusses waiting and uncertainty, but also hope and solidarity.

We are happy to introduce LANZA Atelier (@lanzaatelier ) as one of our three workshop leaders for our fourth edition of Paraply taking place in Copenhagen this August.
The architecture studio LANZA was founded in 2015 by Isabel Abascal and Alessandro Arienzo and is based in Mexico City. The leitmotiv of their practice is to find and contribute to the beauty of the world.
The studio has been nominated for the 2016 Ibero American Architecture Biennial Award and the Mies Crown Hall Award for Emerging Architects, IIT Chicago, 2016 and 2022, and for the Brick Award 2021. The office is one of the winners of the Young Architects Prize 2017 and the Emerging Voices Award 2023 from the Architectural League of New York which described their multimodal work as one that “expresses an inventiveness, a sensitivity to context, and a compositional refinement that spans scales and forms.”
LANZA atelier has been selected to design the 2026 Serpentine Pavilion.
The Paraply 2026 guest lecturers will be announced very soon.
Applications are now open. Stay tuned and read more at paraplyschool.com
