All of our projects require great attention to detail. The little things matter. But it’s important to take a step back from time to time and look at the big picture. To see how far we’ve come. And what better vantage point than this, on this year’s Serpentine Pavilion site where it’s all coming together very nicely. @lanzaatelier @aecom @serpentineuk

There’s a philosophy that runs throughout all of our projects. Design it, test it, build it. Regardless of the project, this approach defines how we go about delivering some of the best creative work in the world. Often, these projects are difficult, but curiously, we like that too. And sometimes we’re guilty of making it all look too easy. But this time we’ve done something different. We’ve produced a documentary style video that tells a story of risk and jeopardy, all set in the context of delivering two stunning sculptures that opened synchronously and kept the flame alive throughout the Milan Cortina Olympic Games. These were created by Marco Balich, inspired by the iconic Hoberman Sphere, and designed in collaboration with Lida Castelli and Paolo Fantin. From the beautiful concepts to the lighting of the Olympic cauldrons, you’ll see it all in just six minutes. It still gives us goosebumps. And we think you’ll get them too. We often talk about creating unforgettable experiences. But it’s rare that we’re able to show you how. Every so often we’re able to give a glimpse behind the curtain. And this is one of these moments. Commissioned by Balich Wonder Studio on behalf of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), we delivered the Cauldrons for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Two stunning kinetic sculptures created by Marco Balich - inspired by the iconic Hoberman Sphere - and designed in collaboration with Lida Castelli and Paolo Fantin, that opened synchronously and kept the flame alive throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Watch our stinger video which captures the prestige, precision, and pressure of delivering an experience for the whole world to see. Unforgettable? Absolutely. @balichwonderstudio In collaboration with: @led_creative_ltd FCTGroup @cundall_global Video produced by: @jamesmaloneshoots

We were delighted to be involved in this year’s BRIT Awards, especially as it was the first time it has been held in the North of England, taking place in the Co-op Live Arena, Manchester. Singer Alex Warren performed an orchestral version of ‘Ordinary’, with James Blunt on piano, and Manchester’s Hallé Orchestra positioned on a tiered stage behind them. We were appointed for the manufacture of the stage, fabricated using 40x40mm box section steel, clad in 9mm ply with a carpet finish. Speed was the name of the game as quick turnaround times were needed; two weeks for manufacture, and just minutes to change the set during the show. The stage sections were fitted with tricastors for easy transportation and off-loading, simply needing to be placed and bolted together on site. @brits Show images: @jmenternational

We were enormously proud to deliver the two exquisite Cauldrons of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Commissioned by @balichwonderstudio on behalf of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the sculptures were created by Marco Balich – inspired by the iconic Hoberman Sphere – and designed in conjunction with Lida Castelli and Paolo Fantin. These kinetic sculptures were designed to expand and contract as the Cauldrons were lit during the opening ceremony. Both spheres opened synchronously and kept the flame alive throughout the duration of the Games. Nine months of thinking, designing, engineering, prototyping, adapting, manufacturing, finishing, testing, packing, installing, and commissioning. Through the power and discipline of engineering, we take big ideas and bring them to life. Watch this space over the coming weeks as we offer more insight into what it takes to deliver something as iconic as an Olympic Cauldron. #olympiccauldron #olympicceremony #engineering

More than just an international multi-sport event, the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi 2026 was a celebration of community. Working with @people_create_experiences Stage One delivered a revolve for the Welcome Ceremony held at Zayed Sports City Stadium. We fabricated the 29.5m doughnut revolve in our facilities in Abu Dhabi and supplied six 11 kW motors that powered it, reaching a top speed of 1.25m per second and controlled using our Qmotion automation software. #ceremonies #stageengineering #automation #qmotion

Form is something we often reference. Looking at the variety of output we produce in our metal shop, it’s easy to see why. These intriguing shapes and contortions not only demonstrate the talent of our teams but the quality of their output. Outstanding. #metalshop #fabrication #steelwork

We often talk about the benefits of technology and automation in manufacture, but there are some processes that can’t be replicated in this way. In our paint shop, application by hand allows close attention to detail. From fine finishing to dramatic textures, our scenic team employ methods of a more traditional craftsmanship, utilising a variety of materials and techniques to meet a creative brief. Here are some examples #scenicdesign #craftsmanship #scenicart

We had a wonderful evening at the opening of The Seam Digital Campus (phase one) yesterday. Thank you to @barnsleycouncilofficial for your hospitality, and for the superb entertainment provided by the choir, the dancers and the parkour performers - such talent 👏 👏 It has been a privilege to deliver the Yorkshire Rose sculptures that Barnsley and beyond will be able to enjoy for years to come. #publicrealmart #steelstructure #yorkshirerose #manufacture

Whilst our metal shop has been busy with the fabrication of structural framework for a variety of projects, our machine shop has been manufacturing the components. Here you can see 5-axis CNC, water jet cutting and plate bending in progress. These are just a few examples of the arsenal of equipment in our machine shop. From stock kit to bespoke engineering projects, we can scale manufacture from a single prototype to thousands of component parts. #machineshop #engineering #cncmachining #waterjetcutting

From aluminium, through mild steel, to stainless, each of our fabrication departments have been at capacity for the first few months of 2026. Some highlights include: Large-scale structural frameworks for a scenic installation. Stages for awards ceremonies and a forthcoming concert tour. Component parts for an experimental architecture project. It’s been a great start to 2026 and this range of metalwork has already provided an interesting mix. We look forward to seeing what the rest of the year brings. #metalshop #fabrication #welding #steelstructures

Our programme of continuous improvement provides a platform for identifying and enhancing processes within the business. At the start of this year we identified a simple but transformational opportunity for change. The Stores Department reported frequent interruption by requests to transport or collect items to and from other hangars across our dispersed site. The resolution – they communicated a new business-wide procedure notifying all staff of three timeslots during the day when they would schedule site wide visits. By managing others’ expectations in this way, they are now informed of requirements in advance of these delivery times, meaning they are better able to manage their time to deliver other tasks too. As you can see from this photo, the new system appears to be working well! #teamappreciation #stores #continuousimprovement
