Did You Know? STS-8 (1983) made history as Guion S. Bluford Jr. became the first African American to fly in space. The mission also deployed INSAT-1B, built in Palo Alto by Ford Aerospace’s Western Development Laboratories. This company eventually became today’s Lanteris Space Systems, an @intuitivemachines company. Follow Intuitive Machines for more updates.

Last month, we were recognized at the NASA Honor Awards with a Group Achievement Award for our work on Psyche. NASA's Psyche mission is on its way to a unique metal-rich asteroid orbiting the Sun between Mars and Jupiter. For Psyche, we built the high-power solar electric propulsion spacecraft chassis. Congratulations to the team and thank you for your hard work!

Over the last two weeks, we welcomed 40+ students from @calpolyaero , 20+ from @santaclarauniversity and 20+ from @ucdavisengineering over a 7-day span. Each group toured our manufacturing facilities and spent time talking with engineers and employees. Hosting visits like these shows what’s possible beyond the classroom and it’s a reminder of why the work matters. Swipe to see the smiles behind the next generation of aerospace engineers.
