Last week, the @lacityopa team visited Central City Neighborhood Partners (CCNP) to see firsthand the incredible work they do as a FamilySource Center. For many community members, CCNP is a trusted bridge to essential resources—including application guidance for @ladwp1 financial assistance programs. As the need for these services grows, their role in providing one-on-one support is more critical than ever. Thank you, @laccnp and @cifdla , for an insightful afternoon. We are committed to ongoing collaboration in highlighting utility affordability challenges. #CCNP #CIFD #CommunityCollaboration #LADWP

This Earth Day, we’re looking at practical ways to improve household water use. 🌎💧 To better understand the resources available to @ladwp1 customers, the City of Los Angeles Office of Public Accountability/Ratepayer Advocate recently tested the @flumewater Smart Monitor. We documented the DIY installation process and evaluated how the data can help residents identify leaks and reduce waste. Read our takeaways at the link in our bio. As LA’s Ratepayer Advocate, we ensure Angelenos have the information they need to make informed decisions about their water use. #EarthDay #LADWP #SaveWater #FlumeWater

Congratulations to David W. Hanson on being designated as Interim General Manager of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power! With more than two decades of experience at @ladwp1 —most recently as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Assistant General Manager of the Power System—Dave brings incredible depth to the role. This is a transformational period for the Department as progress continues toward meeting clean energy and sustainable water goals. The Los Angeles Office of Public Accountability/Ratepayer Advocate looks forward to working with Dave to ensure utility services remain reliable, transparent, and affordable for all Angelenos. @lacityopa also extends a sincere thank you to outgoing Chief Executive Officer and Chief Engineer Janisse Quiñones for her dedicated leadership. We wish her the best in her next chapter!

Today, the Office of Public Accountability (OPA) released a new report examining LADWP electricity rates and customer bills, comparing them to other California utilities and looking at what they mean for affordability in Los Angeles. OPA found that, although LADWP rates remain lower than California's investor-owned utilities and that average bills have grown more slowly than wages and other household costs, many Angelenos still face real affordability challenges, especially renters and low-income residents. OPA is using this report, along with input from recent community listening sessions, to help identify solutions and improve outreach, program access, and affordability tools for ratepayers. Read the report and explore the data here: https://lnkd.in/gXr2PCbY
