The newly-restored Stonehurst Mansion will open its doors on November 22 as the setting for the Medina Triennial’s first Anticipation Benefit.
Built of Medina sandstone, this historic nineteenth-century residence will host its first public event since its renovation with an evening honoring Mary Mattingly and celebrating the launch of the triennial in 2026.
Join us for a four-course dinner by Harvest at Bent’s Opera House, toasting the artists, ecologies, and communities shaping the inaugural Triennial.

Medina Triennial’s Anticipation Benefit will take place on November 22, 2025, at a newly-restored historic venue in the heart of the Village of Medina.
This exclusive evening will celebrate the upcoming launch of the 2026 Medina Triennial and honor pioneering artist Mary Mattingly, the Triennial’s first artist-in-residence. Together we’ll toast the vision that brings world-renowned artists to Medina while centering on the ecologies and communities along the Erie Canal. All proceeds from the benefit will support the inaugural edition of the Medina Triennial.
The Benefit will be held in an Italian Villa-style mansion built in 1861 from pink Medina sandstone. The Benefit will be the first event held at this location, bringing a piece of architectural history back for the community. Once a private home, this venue is now a restored landmark embodying the spirit of Medina.

One hot Estonian minute in New York 🔥 I have never been more proud of Estonia.
The presidential couple and Minister of Culture celebrated the beloved Estonian composer Arvo Pärt’s 90th birthday with sold-out concerts at Carnegie Hall along with major cultural collaborations that have taken a decade to build and nourish in New York. At the same time, the White House was being demolished, an ultimate and beyond heartbreaking symbol of what is being lost and bulldozed over. Two presidents and two ways of world-building. May we never take for granted what we have 💙🖤🤍
Here is a glimpse into the serene choreography of installating 𝘖𝘯 𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘎𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘴. 𝘚𝘪𝘳𝘫𝘦 𝘙𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘓𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵. Walls shift, light settles into its new home, and a world of color slowly emerges ✨
Sirje Runge’s solo exhibition opens this Saturday, October 11th at 12 noon.
We can't wait to see you all at Kai Art Center!
The Hub is open! It truly takes a village to build a triennial.
Thank you to @takeform , designers @serweta_peck , the students, faculty, and staff of the University at Buffalo School of Architecture and Planning, @marymattingly , and Joana Pacheco for your immense contributions to The Hub’s Opening Weekend.

The news is out! The Medina Triennial, a new contemporary art triennial, announces its inaugural edition, taking place from June 6–September 7, 2026. The free, town-wide triennial will feature more than 50 works including site-responsive commissions by local, national and international artists presented at approximately 12 venues in Medina, New York. It will be curated by @kariconte and @laansoo with @ekrem_serdar_
According to Brian Boucher, “You may never have heard of Medina, but those in the region have. It has had no fewer than five local landmarks designated on the National Register of Historic Places, including its downtown, and it was noted by the Buffalo News in 2020 for ‘a bubbling multifaceted culinary and cultural renaissance.’”
