The newly-restored Stonehurst Mansion will open its doors on November 22 as the setting for the Medina Triennial’s first Anticipation Benefit. Built of Medina sandstone, this historic nineteenth-century residence will host its first public event since its renovation with an evening honoring Mary Mattingly and celebrating the launch of the triennial in 2026. Join us for a four-course dinner by Harvest at Bent’s Opera House, toasting the artists, ecologies, and communities shaping the inaugural Triennial. For more information about the Benefit and to buy tickets, please visit the link in our bio. New York City, Klara 🐈 wants you to know that we have a chance to show the world what’s still possible—don’t take it for granted. Vote tomorrow. While canvassing on the Lower East Side yesterday for Zohran Mamdani, we were met with some hostility—people shouting “Nazi,” “You should be ashamed,” even “Where were you on 9/11?” (For the record, I was a few blocks from the World Trade Center.) It was surprising and painful. Misconceptions about Mamdani and about Islam run deep, even on the LES. Those same prejudiced voices will turn out to vote. So must we. Vote for a New York worth believing in—the city both sides of my family have called home for more than a century. A city that once cared for and nurtured us, but where today more than half of our residents can’t afford their basic needs. Vote for hope. Vote for integrity. Vote for joy. Vote for Zohran Mamdani. Sending love. 💛

Moderated by Ieva Zībārte, the discussion brings together John Riepenhoff, Eric Booker, Kari Conte, Anna Līva Traumane, and Harijs Vucens to explore the layered realities of producing and curating art in shared public space. The news is out! The Medina Triennial, a new contemporary art triennial, announces its inaugural edition, taking place from June 6–September 7, 2026. The free, town-wide triennial will feature more than 50 works including site-responsive commissions by local, national and international artists presented at approximately 12 venues in Medina, New York. It will be curated by @kariconte and @laansoo with @ekrem_serdar_ According to Brian Boucher, “You may never have heard of Medina, but those in the region have. It has had no fewer than five local landmarks designated on the National Register of Historic Places, including its downtown, and it was noted by the Buffalo News in 2020 for ‘a bubbling multifaceted culinary and cultural renaissance.’” Thank you @bbrianbboucher @artnet Follow us @medinatriennial . . #medinatriennial
