We are launching “Address: Balat Orphanage,” a publication developed through a collaboration between CSN Lab and the Cluster of Excellence Temporal Communities at Freie Universität Berlin. Join us at D21 Kunstraum for a conversation with authors Tigran Amiryan and Arsen Abrahamyan, together with co-editor Barbara Bausch, tracing the making of the book, from archival research and reading to its transformation into a research publication, and its place within the con·stel·la·tions series. Պոլիս. Ու՞ր են տանում արխիվները հայ | eng  Հոկտեմբերի 11-ին, ժամը 18։00-ին, CSN Lab-ը սիրով հրավիրում է «Պոլիս. Ու՞ր են տանում արխիվները» միջոցառմանը։ Այս միջոցառումը նվիրված է արխիվների հետ աշխատանքի տարաբնույթ փորձառություններին, արխիվի նշանակությանը համայնքային հիշողության պահպանման գործում, դրա փոխկապակցվածությանը ինչպես ինստիտուցիոնալ և այնպես էլ առօրյա հիշողությանը, դրա ներդրումներին քաղաքացիական մասնակցությանն ու հիշողության ակտիվիզմին։ Վերջին տարիներին CSN Lab-ը և Հրանտ Դինք հիմնադրամը իրականացնում են հիշողության հետազոտական նախագծեր՝ հիմնված Պոլսի դպրոցների և որբանոցների թվայնացված արխիվային նյութերի վրա։ Հիմնադրամի արխիվային ծրագրի համակարգող Իրէն Պըչաքչըն կպատմի, թե ինչպես է գործում արխիվը և ինչ հնարավորություններ է այն բացում հետազոտողների, արվեստագետների և համայնքի համար։ CSN Lab-ի հիմնադիր Տիգրան Ամիրյանը կկիսվի համագործակցության փորձով ու Բալաթի արխիվների շուրջ մտորումներով: Միջոցառման լեզուն՝ արևմտահայերեն, արևելահայերեն, անգլերեն։ Միջոցառումը տեղի է ունենում CSN Lab-ի բաց քննարկումների #receptiON շարքի շրջանակում։ Մասնակցելու համար խնդրում ենք նախապես գրանցվել։ Հղումը bio-ում։ 👆🏻 ___ CSN Lab warmly invites you to join us on October 11 at 18:00 for the event “Bolis. Where Do Archives Take Us?” This event is dedicated to the profuse experiences of working with archives: the role of archives in preserving community memory, their relation to institutional and everyday memory, and their connection to civic engagement and #memory activism.  In recent years, CSN Lab and Hrant Dink Foundation have both been working on memory projects based on digitised archival materials from schools and orphanages. Iren Bıçakçı, the archive project coordinator of the Foundation, will speak in detail about how the #Archive functions and what it offers to researchers, artists, and the community. Tigran Amiryan, CSN Lab’s founder, will share his experience of collaboration and reflections on the Balat archives. 24 SEPTEMBER 2025 | FOOD&FOOTAGE | EMBODIED MEMORIES Variations on Armenian Contemporary Art with CSN Lab @csn_lab This edition of #FOODandFOOTAGE brings voices from Armenia exploring memory, bodies, and art as spaces of resistance and care. The evening unfolds around the new book Memory of the Body (CSN Lab, 2025), presented by its co-authors Arsen Abrahamyan @arsenique___ , Mariam Yeghiazaryan, and Tigran Amiryan @l_oriental . The book examines the reflection and (non-)representation of the body in contemporary Armenian art and culture, exploring how bodies carry social and political memory — from the Soviet body to the queer body, from the body of pleasure to the body wounded by war. Using diverse methods — from archival research to art criticism and cultural anthropology — the authors investigate the “bodiless” aspects of Armenian culture and the traces left in embodied memories of visual arts. Visual artists Amassia Niziblian @iamveribizi and lucine talalyan @lucinetalalyan share projects and stories that trace how feminist bodies remember what is erased from public space and media. Amassia will present the corpo-real project, exploring how the body bridges past and present, generations and memories. The program closes with lucine’s film postDiY — an intimate reflection on queer life and its resistance to brutality and patriarchy in post-socialist Armenia. Together, the presentations show how contemporary art becomes a multi-layered record of the past and a container of memory: from Soviet collapse to war, from repression to revolution, from decolonial practices to migration. An evening of sharing, remembering, and imagining futures. Armenian treats will be served by Café Arakil @cafe_arakil . ARI Literature Foundation in cooperation with Konrad Adenauer Foundation South Caucasus and with the support of The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia conducted an event in the frames of Frankfurt Buchmesse. On October 18th, 2024, a panel discussion entitled Looking for a place - Armenian literature in Europe took place at the Frankfurt Studio stage in the frames of the fair. The speakers of the panel were writers Anoush Kocharyan, Aram Pachyan, Sargis Hovsepyan, literary critic Tigran Amiryan, and the panel was moderated by Jürgen Jakob Becker, Deputy Managing Director, curator of literary program at Literarische Colloquium Berlin.
