Kwesi told me he writes poems
Love poems in particular.
His words are truly so special.
They captivated me from the get go.
I hope his words spoke something into you as well,
as you watched or read the piece we made together.
Kwesi asked me what motivates me to write.
I said âpersonal experiences and how I feelâ.
âItâs an amazing vessel to let go of feelings you are holding on toâ.
I asked him what he thinks.
He said âI think that a lot of people avoid writing
poetry because they donât want to face their truthsâ.
We continued to share our writing with each other.
It turns out we write in a very similar tone.
I remember how my heart felt,
as we exchanged our writing.
My heart only opened up more.
It became larger than it already is.
When I first asked Kwesi whether he would,
be down to make something special together.
He said âI used to write poetry actuallyâ.
Kwesi, you still write poetry.
Poetry will forever be apart of you.
I hope our piece together has
brought you back to your words.
Your love for the words.
Continue to write.
Most importantly for yourself
But also recognise the hearts it touches.
Like my heart.
Love,
Bella
