What a whirlwind it’s been playing with Hong Hong and all our friends! We hit Mott street on LNY and Super Saturday. One was balmy, the next was a slushy snowy delight. Getting to be a part of a tradition that I’ve always loved has brought me immense joy. The camaraderie with my crew, the babies and aunties who were drawn to us like a magnet, intrepid friends who found us in the chaos (or didn’t find us but had a great time anyway), the small businesses we showed our respect to, the @wowprojectnyc dragon meeting us for a rainbow play date, the physical feat of carrying my boy for hours at a time, the confetti in the air. I loved it all.
I’m so grateful to all my photographers too. It’s going to take me a while to go through all the documentation (and the next project is already about to jump out the gate) but I wanted to share at least a somewhat random selection of the amazing photos. Shout out to Meg Chew, Macy Castañeda, @kathywahlee@williamsonbrasfield@slant_rhymez and @urbneg who sent me what you see here. More soon from me n my boy. 💖
If you want one more chance to meet HH before he takes a break please come to the closing party for @blinddrunkenmonkey at @thinkchinatown this Sunday, 2-5pm
Next up! I’m performing two “English songs” with my Cantonese opera class in a showcase at CCBA, 62 Mott St, this Sunday May 17. Free show which supposedly starts at 12:30 (but as friends who came to the last one know, there’s the potential it will start up to two hours late?). If you wanna see me, I’d suggest arriving around 1:30 and leaving to grab a snack and come back if it’s not started yet. Really the best reason to come is to see my amazing teachers and classmates.
Meemee is doing my makeup and I’m planning to surprise my sifu with this hat I made as a tribute to him. He always teaches class in a baseball cap and he’s the mvp for that reason.
It’s the last day to see this sweet show at @belowgrandnyc with works by me, @jordancorinec and @at._.km - curated by the ultra thoughtful and kind @zakariyaa.qadir and @ericgeithner
12-6pm, 53 Orchard St. Come through! I’ll be hanging out this afternoon, probably buying more things from the kitchen supply store that houses the gallery.
I can finally say it here, I’ll be the artist in residence at the New Museum starting next week!
“Kuo’s residency with the New Museum will culminate in a new performance work that draws on her sustained research into Cantonese Opera traditions and will be presented in fall 2026. She will build sets and costumes for the performance in her singular style, drawing aesthetic inspiration and materials from the shops, restaurants, and streets of Chinatown.”
I’m so honored to be in the company of the illustrious alumni of this program and my fellow studio inaugurals Yun Choi and Korakrit Arunanondchai. Alethea Rockwell, @riverjeanbowes and the whole education team have already done so much to support me as I’ve developed this project. Thanks to all the friends and advisors who have already given valuable feedback. I have a big, warm community making this work with me and I couldn’t be luckier.
Felt ornery, typed words.
If art that creates space for healing, care, intergenerational transfer of wisdom, and building momentum for a better world reads as “weak” to you, perchance its time to check yourself.
———text from image——
Reading a plenty of criticism about the new Whitney biennial saying it’s weak for showing art that is about community healing rather than chronicling the horrors of the Trump admin. I just wonder who these critics think we make our work for? No gallery or institution is gonna pay me six figures to reproduce shit you can see on tv and social media every second.
The artists who inspire me aren’t waiting for permission or begging for validation, they are busting ass funding their own work so they have the freedom to make what matters to them FOR THE PEOPLE THEY CARE ABOUT.
If you wanna watch black and brown people and immigrants get brutalized by all means knock yourself out. But why in the fuck do we have an obligation to reproduce images of violence???
Every damn person has an obligation to care about what is happening in this country. So go outside and talk to your neighbors, organize, help out, take a risk.
Toot toot beep deep divas,
Tomorrow maybe opens Saturday at 53 Orchard.
Reconstruction always risks collapse. Jordan Corine Cruz, Alison Kuo, and Aidan McLellan each oscillate around Tomorrow maybe’s heart: looking backward to consider our inherited voices and believing in the eventually. Cruz remolds and reroutes domestic narratives; Kuo deitizes accumulation, threading idols of past into the present; McLellan rewards play and delays breakdown. Together grasping intangible visions to build approximations.
The afterglow of yesterday upon us.
Tomorrow maybe is curated by Zakariya Abdul-Qadir & Eric Geithner.
See you Saturday

Back from a wonderful trip to Hong Kong. Amid the sunshine and fruitful artistic research, I most treasure the time spent with my family. My cousins @askuo@kytkk04@ajkyj & cousin-in-law @cmn_mandychiang are all so kind, talented, and fun to be with. Having grown up close to my cousins I missed this bond. It was really special too to be back in HK with my dad and see the ways his smile lights up there.
Lucky to have met with @kurttong77 while I was there (follow his sm because a crazy projects dropping soon). And was quite honored to visit artistic movement leader @danny.yung.5458 in his office at Zuni Icosahedron.
We did a fair bit of bird watching thanks to Anna and attended a Cantonese opera. More pics incoming.
Friends! I am pleased to share that I am the Producer for the Speculating on Plurality Residency at @eyebeamnyc 🐦🔥 Please help me get the word out about our Open Call.

Super Saturday joy!
With the return of firecrackers to the celebration everything feels so right and complete. I love Asian American culture and the way New Yorkers come out for this special day.
Scenes here too from my workshop at the @thetenementmuseum with Prof Alice of @grandteaimports - it was a beautiful night. I’ve never done anything quite like this where the participants got to help dedicate a new permanent addition to the museum display. As we stitched our projects, we thought about the women and families of Chinatown who worked in the garment industry. We blessed our offerings on the altar while the first tea was poured and the electric incense was lit. I asked for protection for Chinatown. We will stay strong together, looking out for one another.
Gong Hei Fat Choy! Happy year of the horse!
I’ll be at the @thetenementmuseum with @thinkchinatown and my fav co-teacher Prof Alice Liu on Feb 23 to lead a workshop about home altar making.
So joyful to ring in the new year with friends ❤️🔥 and a special recipe by @cindytrinh.photo . The proof is in the broth.
Wishing you all a year of prosperity and good health. Let’s gallop into radical social change!
