Celebrating its 60th edition, the Zagreb Salon, Croatia’s longest-running contemporary art event, presents over 25 works, performances, and interventions across more than 20 locations in the city. Tea Stražičić, Do Humans Dream of Electric Dogs? The work explores the robotisation of pets and the transformation of animal roles in contemporary society. This series of hybrid 3D sculptures merges toy aesthetics, robotic design, and dystopian visions of dogs. The work questions notions of cuteness, utility, and control: from guard dogs to media stars and household appliances like vacuum cleaners. At its core lies the question of why synthetic organisms are so rarely imagined with “feminine” aesthetic elements. Drawing on research into robotics companies such as Boston Dynamics, the project reframes their work through speculative fiction and cultural imaginaries, offering alternative narratives about the future coexistence of humans and technology. Created through digital modelling, 3D printing, and hand-painting, the sculptures function as relics of future pets – simultaneously attractive and unsettling. The project asks what is lost and what is gained when the love and companionship of animals are replaced by their mechanical imitations. We are excited to welcome our new LIVING ROOM resident: Tullio Della Cortiglia! 🪅🫧 Tullio is an Italian–French artist working between drawing, video, sculpture, animatronics, and pyrotechnics. His practice is rooted in handcrafting and explores the subversion of festive devices, analog special effects, and the intertwined histories of entertainment and military technologies, revealing the operative systems that shape contemporary culture. His works appear as urgent fragments of spectacle within unstable environments, tracing the tensions between urban and rural territories, where appropriation, adaptation, and collective inhabitation are constantly being renegotiated. Hydrosex Call: Justyna Górowska as the AI Water Nymph WetMeWild Zagreb: Pogon Jedinstvo | April 23, 2026, 7:00 PM Curator: Michalina Sablik A performance and interactive virtual space in which two protagonists meet: the artist Justyna Górowska @wetmewild , travelling from Poland for the occasion, and her digital alter ego WetMeWild — a Slavic water nymph, sex worker, and AI-based avatar developed since 2017. In the underwater VR environment designed for the character, participants can engage in real-time conversation with WetMeWild on topics ranging from microplastic pollution to biodiversity loss and the ecological cost of AI infrastructure. The project is part of KUĆĆA’s @kuccccccca curatorial programme, which I have been developing together with Klara Petrović @kla.pet and Luja Šimunović @ll.u.j.a It is supported by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute @mickiewicz_institute and Zarodny Kultura

🪅 We invite artists based in Europe to apply with a research proposal for participation in the fifth edition of the LIVING ROOM residency! The selected artist will develop their research in dialogue with KUĆĆA’s curatorial team and present the outcome in a solo exhibition in Zagreb. The research process will also be presented following the residency at the 28th edition of Media Mediterranea in Pula, organized by @udruga.metamedij 🧸 Under the 2026 thematic framework CUTE BUT PSYCHO, we are looking for research-based and interdisciplinary proposals that critically engage with contemporary technological, social, and political phenomena. The theme explores the emotional, superficial, and seemingly superfluous intensities of contemporary culture: the cute, the cringe, the zany, the weird - content that circulates endlessly online. Vulnerable aesthetics that render the world adorable, janky, awkward, and hyper-interesting in an I’ll-forget-this-in-two-seconds kind of way. 🫧 We are interested in the gendered, racialized, and political dimensions of softness and excess - how vulnerability can function both as tactic and trap, how it can operate as social regulation as much as resistance. We want to explore how such aesthetics might produce critical and engaged imaginaries, open new forms of intimacy, and unsettle established understandings of corporeality, subjectivity, and agency. Gaia Radić questions the creation of subjectivity in this artistic research resulting in a site-specific installation engulfing KUĆĆA. We witness a pre-subjective birth — the barrier between the inside and the outside is permeable, spread through not only by objects and apparatuses but by spatiality itself.
