Definitely trying at times; researching new material, troubleshooting with hardware and software (A LOT). But to showcase it at @patronaathaerlem , @tillatec and now @the_new_current was a very rewarding process. Grateful for the conversations it sparked, the bodies that engaged with it, and the space to share something so visceral. Overwhelmed by the love for “Mother’s Child” and incredibly proud of our amazing cast and crew who made this film possible 💋 Making a film is collaborative process and I’m really proud that we got to pull this off in less than one year during our graduation year. It was ambitious, but we had an urge to tell this story. Multiple cast and crew members of the film have siblings with specials needs or have been a carer at some point in their life. It was incredibly special to be able to share these stories that we’re usually keeping to ourselves because they tend to make others uncomfortable. With “Mother’s Child” we got to embrace that discomfort and turn it into poetry. Together, they craft multidisciplinary installations, live performances, and curatorial projects for their online platform, Blue Rider Radio. At The New Current, you are invited to step into their work IMMURE which blurs the line between connection and discomfort.
