Weekend with Kattai kuttu Sangam
A Saturday evening spent watching the student production "Dice Game" an exerpt of the Mahabharata showcasing the story of the dice game and the dishonour of Draupadi. The performance was by the 3 month Diploma course students of Kattai Kuttu Sangam.
What a brilliant performance it was, a unique all female lead cast with many key roles like Kattiakaran (Narrator) being played as dual roles with men and women. It was a first for me to see women in kuttu performance and that too in lead roles.
Proudest of my dear friend @karuna_amarnath who put herself through this rigour to learn a traditional art form. Loved her portrayal of Dharmaraja. @mayaskrishnan lit up the stage with her energy as Dushasana.
Amazing stage presence and performance by the whole team. They have one more performance on Jan 10,2026 at 6pm in Kattai Kuttu Sangam, Kanchipuram.
