Today marks 20 years of continuous sobriety...whoo..I just got emotional as I typed it. I hadn't been. I'm pretty pragmatic about it, for the most part. I was beaten into submission by the consequences of my drinking. I sought recovery because I had tried everything I could to keep drinking and couldn't figure it out, and SURE didn't know what I was gonna do without drinking! I learned that connecting and sharing ourselves authentically with others was a way of life that kept me healing and growing.
But, wow. As I typed it out...my heart WHOOSHED... What I know is that things got better, and I was no longer confused about drinking. But I was still confused about who I was and how to deal with myself and others in relationships and community. I've learned a lot more about that in the past 20 years - by being in relationships and community - and that's what has enhanced my experience the most. Being connected with people who show up in my life and offer me so much, in so many ways and having the opportunity to share myself with you. These are the things that have helped me find a center-place, a place I can come back to and know contentment, and Love, even when the world outside and inside gets really chaotic. I find stability in connectedness.
Sobriety brought possibility.
Recovery fostered discovery.
Continuity bred fluidity.
New ways of living are possible. This I know.
We're all in this together. This is Reality.

Getting clean was the best decision I ever made. Staying clean the most rewarding thing I've ever done. Everything else springs from it... If not the gift itself, the ability to recognize and appreciate it.

Hey fams!
I wanted to drop a personal note of thanks and a small ask. As you have likely seen, depending on how much your algorithm favors me, I've been working to help local artist @thecozmoknot launch @makeamericaminneapolis.mn . The designs are all his. I'm just lending some of my computer nerdiness and enthusiasm to build momentum. So far, we've done a couple of fundraiser pop-ups (we're doing another tomorrow), and are in the process of launching a website for sales, alongside our social media pages. The goal is to provide dope gear, focused on our collective power and communal beauty, and support mutual aid causes through donating a portion of our sales.
So, THANK YOU to everyone who has bought gear, followed our pages, and asked "WHERE CAN I GET THOSE!?" so far!!
We've got some cool shit in the hopper; more events, more designs, collaborations, and things to come... STAY TUNED!

Last week I had the privilege and pleasure to spend 5 days on Nts'ósíkooh (the Colorado River in Cataract Canyon in Utah) on Ancestral Puebloan land. It was an epic adventure with good friends and guides who are now good friends too. We were cooked and blown - not by BJ Mike as promised, but the wind definitely had its way with us a few times - chilled and soaked. We rafted, hiked, swam and some of us even kayaked the rapids. We bonded and built, learned about, appreciated and honored the land, relaxed, worked, and thoroughly enjoyed our time together. Huge thanks to our super-guides Big Daddy Addy & BJ Mike from @griffith_river . They made this possible and thoroughly enhanced our experiences out there. More thanks, salutes, and Love to the Raft Bastards crew! It was great groovin' together...
