What does home sound like when you build it somewhere new? For our @refugeworldwide debut, we want to explore the Indonesian sounds, memories, and dancefloor energies that shaped us, past and present. As three Indonesian artists based in Berlin, this set is about tracing where we come from, what moves us, and how we want to contribute to the city’s nightlife and diaspora community. We’re honored to be part of this community evening hosted by @xo.babxi , celebrating Asian diaspora through music, food, and connection while raising funds for ICE OUT in support of overseas diaspora communities. On Sat, May 16th, we are hosting an evening of culture, community, and music at Refuge. Inspired by #AAPI (Asian American & Pacific Islander) month, we’re centering artists and vendors from Berlin’s vibrant Asian diaspora: 

On air from 5-9pm 🔊 * Insyallah bangerz! w/ @kretteklang * 100% Mando R&B / hip-hop w/ resident @elliephunk , @imjinggg_ & Taipei-based @wade.dao * Taiwanese Cinematic Downtempo Folk on vinyl w/ Kaohsiung-based @vickihuang8 

 Community hangout programming from 5pm: * Southeast Asian mancala games & karaoke hosted by resident @xo.babxi * Filipino food pop-up by @masarapberlin * Traditional Korean tattoo art by @daya.tatt * Prints & artwork by @_canvassed * Panel session by @alpas_pilipinas Closing out our hangout is a karaoke session hosted by Pinay “karaoke jockey” @xo.babxi , following Asian house party traditions, supported by Korean apothecary brand @the_awkn with giveaways of recovery shots!

This community event is free to attend, but encourages donations to align with the efforts of ICE OUT and related initiatives opposing anti-immigrant rhetoric and action. In doing so, our aim is to foster support for overseas diaspora, making the statement that cultural observances – whether official or not – matter, and so does what happens to diaspora communities everywhere. Donations will be directed to @iwspace.de , a Berlin-based feminist and anti-racist collective made up of migrant, refugee, and non-migrant women. The group focuses on supporting refugee women and advocating around issues like asylum rights, deportation, and social isolation. See you @refugeworldwide.space !

Last but definitely not least, we’re excited to welcome @xo.babxi babxi to the booth for CENTAL CENTIL 💋 With Filipino roots and now based in Berlin, she’s been quietly carving her own lane behind the decks. Her sets move effortlessly through disco shimmer, electric grooves, house bounce and techno pressure. Always playful, always a little seductive. She’s also recently started her own collective @_heart2hearts__ , and something tells us this might not be the last time our paths cross… 👀 Now the lineup is complete. Originally from Ulaanbaatar and now based in Berlin, she’s been making her name around town, serving heat at venues such as Crack Bellmer and Lokschuppen and leaving dance floors a little sweatier every time. A little disco shimmer, a little house bounce, a little afrobeat swing, blended well with a touch of spices. It’s groovy, it’s bouncy, it’s confident.
