The Soil Assembly on “Soil Regeneration in the Context of War” is an interdisciplinary event bringing together scientists, ecologists, artists, and professionals working in agriculture.
Soil Assembly creates a space for dialogue across different sectors to explore practical and creative approaches to soil restoration in the context of war and Ukraine’s post-war recovery.
The Ukrainian Ecostations Network is a non-governmental organisation that unites everyone striving to protect nature. It provides tools and support for implementing environmental initiatives through the work format of ecostations. Ukrainian Ecostations Network’s mission is to bring people together for the development of communities in harmony with nature.
Through its ecostations, Ukrainian Ecostations Network helps activists deepen their knowledge, implement scientific and educational projects in ecology and nature conservation, and connect with like-minded people — creating a synergy of actions for introducing ecosolutions and achieving sustainable development at the community level.
Ukrainian Ecostations Network focuses on developing a sustainable and cohesive community of ecostations united by shared values and a common purpose.

At the Kompost Camp, the question “Where am I?” was explored. On this walk designed to engage all the senses, campers and festival-goers set out to answer this question, exploring, feeling, listening, smelling and tasting the camp’s immediate surroundings: the herb garden, the industrial estate, the fast-food drive-through, the canal and the building site. At the B-Side Festival 2024, the experimental walk continued around Münster harbour.

Auf dem Kompost Camp wurde die Frage "Wo bin ich?" ergründet. Auf diesem Spaziergang für alle Sinne gingen die Camper:innen und Festivalbesuchende dieser Frage nach und erkundeten, erfühlten, erhörten, errochen, erschmeckten die nähere Umgebung des Camps: Kräutergarten, Gewerbegebiet, Fast-Food Drive Through, Kanal, Baustelle. Auf dem B-Side Festival 2024 fand der experimentelle Spaziergang sein Fortführung rund um den münsteraner Hafen.

Kompost Festival Map: station 21
An exploratory tour through Münster’s concrete jungles on a visionary search for the sponge city of the future. During the two-part ‘Cracks in the Asphalt’ bicycle tour, the sealed and compacted soils of Münster were travelled over, felt and creatively redesigned. The perception sharpened by the sensitive approach was transformed into words, which brought splashes of colour and food for thought to the asphalt desert.

The video contributions collected as part of the video series ‘Planetary Rotten’ were presented to the public for the first time here in the pavilion of the palace gardens. This was followed by musical and dance improvisations based on microscope images of soil organisms.
