Anhand von 10 Fragen nähern wir uns der künstlerischen Arbeit von Tina Kohlmann und bekommen einen Einblick in die kuratorische Arbeit. Her objects read like remnants of an unfamiliar culture - relics from a sphere that eludes established orders. Her sculptures are at once humorous and uncanny, artificial and vulnerable. Weitere Einblicke in die Vernissage von Tina Kohlmann! Wir freuen uns sehr, das Insitut für Geisterforschung (aka den ehemaligen Blumen Corso) mit Tina Kohlmann eröffnet zu haben! Ein wundervoller Abend mit wundervollen Werken und Gesprächen führten zu einem Treffen zwischen Gesellschaft, Geistern und Kunst. Tina Kohlmanns Arbeiten in "Mystic Muscels" greifen Mythologie, Anthropologie und Rituale auf; sie ermöglichen einen interessanten Einblick in die verschiedenen Zustände der Rationalität, Praktiken und Sicht- und Unsichtbarkeit, in denen Körper und Material als Vermittler zwischen unterschiedlichen Wirklichkeitsebenen fungieren. Eröffnet wurde der Abend des 13.02.2026 mit Reden von Oberbürgermeister Frank-Tilo Becher, Professor Martin Schepers und Dr. Nadja Ismail, sowie anregenden Worte seitens der Künstlerin Tina Kohlmann. Für den ehemaligen Blumen Corso, der zugleich als Festivalzentrum des Projekts fungiert, entwickelt sie eine ortsspezifische Installation aus Masken, Figuren und Artefakten, die auf die Geschichte des denkmalgeschützten Gebäudes Bezug nimmt. Mystic Muscles versteht sich als Allegorie jener unsichtbaren Kräfte, die künstlerische Ideen in sinnlich erfahrbare Formen überführen, und verweist zugleich auf die von Kohlmann geschaffenen mythologisch anmutenden Wesen – sogenannte Non-Humans. ____ In her oeuvre, Tina Kohlmann engages with fringe sciences, mythology, anthropology, and ritual aesthetics. 𝔴𝔢 𝔞𝔯𝔢 𝔦𝔫 𝔟𝔢𝔱𝔴𝔢𝔢𝔫 𝔴𝔬𝔯𝔩𝔡𝔰 on view @freitagskueche every friday evening and by appointment ➡️finissage february 6th 7pm 🌬️💨💨💨 The three free-standing sculptures Crazal (2025), Cassotis (2022) and Chetel (2021) read simultaneously as archaic vessels and as organic underworld creatures. Both aspects converge in the mythological title Cassotis, derived from kassyo in Ancient Greek, meaning “to stitch” or “to join”, while also recalling the spring nymph of the Delphic oracle who bestowed her prophecies upon the priestess. @majadanalisewski 📸 @jensgerberfotografie

𝔴𝔢 𝔞𝔯𝔢 𝔦𝔫 𝔟𝔢𝔱𝔴𝔢𝔢𝔫 𝔴𝔬𝔯𝔩𝔡𝔰 on view @freitagskueche every friday evening and by appointment ➡️finissage february 6th 7pm 🌬️💨💨💨 At the centre of the room stand Cosmedin + Ammon (2021), two oversized masks that function as guardian figures. Kohlmann here references Rome’s “Bocca della Verità” – a stone wall sculpture said, in legend, to bite the hands of liars with its gaping, mask-like mouth. Her version is gentler, softer: metallic in its shimmer, with silvery-white hair and a playful expression. The mouths grin; purple bicycle chains block the gullet – the test of truth is neutralised, perhaps even ironised. @majadanalisewski 📸 @jensgerberfotografie
