I was driving to a Buddhist temple last week, minding my own business listening to the
@knowthyself podcast when the guest Joe Hudson quoted this and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since.
How many of us are only letting the good parts in? The motivated parts. The clear, aligned, doing-the-thing parts. While quietly shutting the door on the fear, the grief, the sadness, the resistance.
As if those parts are the problem.
Because they’re not the problem, they’re part of the family.
What I’ve come to understand - through my own work and through sitting with so many women in this exact place - is that resistance isn’t a sign you’re going backwards.
It’s a sign you’re at the edge of something real.
The nervous system doesn’t know the difference between danger and growth. It just knows: this is new, this is bigger than where we’ve been. And it creates friction.
The women I’ve watched do the deepest work don’t get to the next level by bypassing this part. They get there by learning to be with it. By welcoming all of it to the table and keep moving anyway.
So if you’re high-achieving, self-aware, highly intuitive, and somehow still feeling stuck like many women I work with - please hear this:
You are not broken. You are not behind. You are in the alchemical part. The messy, restructuring, cocoon stage that looks like nothing is happening when actually everything is changing.
If you’re ready to do the deeper work - to welcome all of it and finally move through what’s been keeping you stuck - I’d love to support you.
