🎙️ allow me to reintroduce myself… over the last year, Knockout has grown and evolved so much that it felt like the right time to capture what my biz coach @writeprettyforme lovingly coined *Knockout 2.0* 😏 so if we’re just getting to know each other, let me catch you up… ⏺️ My name is Katie, KT, KO, KTO… pick your fave. I’m 36 years old and I’m a wedding calligrapher and hand-lettering artist. ⏺️ I specialize in creating personalized, show-stopping pieces that wow guests and customers and elevate any event. From seating charts and welcome signs, to small business storefronts and chalkboards, to live calligraphy for brand activations, I’m ya girl to bring it all to life. ⏺️ I grew up in the burbs but have lived in the city for 10 years (‼️) and I looove all things Philly. From the incredible food, to the gritty energy, to the unhealthy sports team obsessions, I’m here for it alllllll. ⏺️ I got married to KOL’s favorite assistant, Matt, at @bartramsgarden in 2022. We were soooo lucky to have a beautiful 73 degree November day for our outdoor wedding. And YES, I did make all the signs (ask me what the value would’ve been if I charged a real client for all I created 😵‍💫). ⏺️ I didn’t really learn calligraphy on purpose, but got into it because I already had good handwriting. I did my first ever wedding signs in 2014 for my sister, then in 2017 for two of my besties. It all sort of spilled out from there. ⏺️ Fun (?) facts: I’m the youngest of 3 sisters, and we’ve all been vegetarians since we were kids (sorry mom and dad); I will be turning the volume all the way up and singing loudly while I drive; I’m a big fan of being cozy whenever and wherever possible; and the answer is alwaysss “yes” to a glass of wine. ⏺️ Favorite letters to write: P, R, Z, M Think we’d be a good fit to work together?! ✨live engraving tumblers at a company party ✨ loved bringing a little magic to a group of University City employees this holiday season! i engraved names, initials, and fun phrases into custom company tumblers while @allicatcalligraphy joined me to personalize acrylic ornaments. we shouldn’t have been surprised, but mannn what 👏 a 👏 rush 👏 at the start. lots of deep breaths + some extra time later, we completed 70+ tumblers and mugs and 150+ ornaments as gifts and special keepsakes. more than just a thank you, these events are true team builders in disguise. i love hearing guests ask each other about the personalization they should choose, then showing off their finished pieces to each other to compare. the best is when they get so into it that they start explaining the process to the next person, doing half my job for me 😅. thank you so much @_beanski_ for trusting my vision for the day — always the best to work with you!! interested in live calligraphy, engraving, or foiling for your next event or activation? curious what that even means??
