🇰🇿 KAZAKHSTAN — you’ll forever have my heart.
10 years since I last set foot on Kazakh soil… and wow, what a whirlwind. 😅
So much food, family, and catching up, and honestly, a lot of learning about myself too.
🐎 It’s been ages since I rode a horse, so please excuse the questionable form 😅
We started off in Astana, the capital and I was genuinely blown away by how modern and dystopian the city felt.
Then off to Almaty to meet my auntie and hit the road, a huge trip to Ala Kol Lake and the healer’s house 🌿
We passed through breathtaking Kazakh nature, the endless steppe, and even got dressed up in traditional garms 🌾
Somehow even bumped into @baaad_decisions — who were road-tripping all the way from Manchester to Oskemen in the most run-down cars ever 🚗💨
Back in Almaty (the biggest and most vibrant city), we spent the day at Kok Tobe, a hill full of fun spots you can only reach by gondola 🚠
Finally, we returned to my hometown Uralsk, where I visited my mum’s village 🥹 We saw her childhood home (built by my grandfather’s bare hands) plus her abandoned music school and my grandfathers old workplace, where rolls of his film still remain 🎞️
On our last night, we circled back to Astana and visited the largest mosque in Central Asia, and the second largest outside the Middle East 🕌
Feeling so grateful to have reconnected with my roots.
Can’t wait to go back one day 🩷🌞🦅
I don’t even know where to start. As a lot of you know, I’ve had absolute hell with my health over this year but have made some immense progress since leaving the hospital.
There is so much that I want to say about being in hospital and what I did for my skin but that will come when I’m ready to put it all into words. There was a lot of heavy emotions and thoughts that I had to process which had me delaying posting something proper about it. Literally tearing up as I type this.
To everyone on the internet, THANK YOU for all the support 🩷 Mum, THANK YOU for nursing me to health so that I could enjoy the life you gave me. Universe, THANK YOU for protecting me. THANK YOU for giving me the chance to start again. THANK YOU for giving me hard lessons to truly know my path. My body, THANK YOU for being the miracle that you are. THANK YOU for staying strong and surviving the hard times. THANK YOU for clear skin.
Here’s a dump of me enjoying every fucking second of my final month as a London resident. Not one day has gone wasted on ANY negativity. I’ve learnt to truly listen and honour my POWERFUL and miraculous body 🩷
When you know how shit things can be, you REALLY start appreciating the little pleasures of how beautiful life is and how freeing good health is. Take a deep ass breath and know that everything is going to be okay. The universe ALWAYS has your back 🙏
