KLIMATON: KOSIKOS is a 30-minute live audiovisual performance that transforms Arctic climate data into immersive sound and image. Using a synthesizer as the primary sound source—modified and mediated through custom electro-acoustic instruments—the piece unfolds through a blend of improvised and composed structures. Commissioned by Studio Softic. Performed and composed by @tengal and J.“@moongsoul ” Santoso Pribadi, it draws on non-Western sonic traditions to create a ritualistic, multi-sensory encounter with ecological transformation. The @klimaton.project is a research-based instrument designed and conceptualized by @studio.softic since 2020, they have been developing the project KLIMATON, which is not only an artistic research endeavor into the acoustic perception of ecological transformations but also a curated platform for collaborative and transdisciplinary sound work. The sub-project KLIMATON ARCTIC (2020–2023) received an honorable mention at the 2023 Prix Ars Electronica.
