Ausstellung: ROOM TO NEGOTIATE Wir freuen uns sehr, euch dieses Jahr die Ausstellung ›ROOM TO NEGOTIATE‹ von Studio Softić @studio.softic in unserem Festivalzentrum präsentieren zu können. ›ROOM TO NEGOTIATE‹, einer fortlaufende Werkserie, die nach der Zerstörung vielstimmiger Räume fragt – überwiegend an Orten, die als die Peripherie Europas markiert sind: In Prijedor, wo ein Hochhaus zum Grabmal der Idee einer klassenlosen, multikulturellen Gesellschaft wurde. In Varna, wo ein Monument propagierter Freundschaft zur Bühne codierter Männlichkeit wird – und darüber hinaus. Während der Festivalwoche wird die Ausstellung durch ein begleitendes Vermittlungsprogramm, Gespräche und Filmvorführungen ergänzt. Zu Gast: Nina Softić und Adnan Softić (Die beiden Künstler*Innen werden bei der Eröffnung, sowie auch im Laufe der Woche anwesend sein.) 🌊 Looking back at our KLIMATON workshop on Hvar last week 🌊
Discussions on global warming intertwined with a sonic walk, capturing both human- and non-human-influenced soundscapes. These recordings became the material for our workshop and concert, weaving Mediterranean impressions into the ongoing KLIMATON dialogues. Here, we practice remote senses — listening across geographies, allowing the Arctic and the Mediterranean to speak to each other through sound. I can't think of a better recipe against a world full of identity neurotics and purity fantasies than practicing encounters. This is also what our work ROOM TO NEGOTIATE is about, which is part of the ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen) touring exhibition EVROVIZION CROSSING STORIES AND SPACES by the curators Sabina Klemm and Sanja Kojić Mladenov.
