Stop walking into rooms worried about what everyone else is bringing to the table.
Start worrying about what you’re bringing to the table.
It starts a movement where everyone feels free to be the best version of themselves—and to express themselves.
Because when you stay in your purpose, you free others to do the same.
That’s how real confidence spreads—and real self-expression begins.
The rule for my classes and how I operate when I walk into other rooms is this:
I walk in either (a) so focused on myself I notice nobody else—
or (b) if or when I do notice somebody else, it’s out of love only.
That 'love' might include being inspired by that person, wanting to adopt something they did, or encouraging them.
But I shift between both of those and nothing else.
And I think that’s a rule we can all hold for ourselves in every room we walk into.
Because confidence isn't constantly scanning the room and measuring others and yourself based on it. It's walking into the room knowing why you're there, knowing your purpose and having a purpose so full within your heart for who you are and who you wanna be and what you're looking for in that particular room that you Are the room and it goes wherever you go.

Crowd was hype for this one
This came straight from my head while I was driving ➡️ into a recording session at the studio to capture it. When I put this choreo on some beasts, I really wanted OLD FASHIONED DANCING. Formation changes and visuals can be amazing, but sometimes you need to just stop and sit and let the dancing speak for itself.
It’s so funny that I’m known for heels when this is so core to my soul— but then I say that out loud and heels is me too. Who I am inside, combined with my very diverse life experiences, make me all the things. I need alllll of it. All the movement. All the expression. And it’s allowed me to be a really versatile choreographer, which is dope.

Your biggest barrier in dance (AND LIFE) is that you don’t see it like art. Like a place to play openly.
I get it— it can feel SOOOO unsafe. Everyone else makes it seem like they have it all figured out always. But it’s not that— it’s just that they choose to hide when they don’t. And then sometimes, right when we want to leap into freedom, all the times we’ve ever been made fun of or ridiculed (or seen someone else be ridiculed) can well up at once. Or sometimes we just don’t know HOWWWW to play yet. To be free, to be open.
The irony of being afraid to look stupid, is that we look more stupid when we try to hide from looking stupid.
YOU set the tone in the room and in your life. Growing in the moment, taking risks… it’s a much more fun way to dance AND to live.

Detroit turned up a lil bit 🔥🫰 So grateful for everyone who canceled their Thanksgiving week plans to come dance with me. Some of yall drove almost 2 hours 🥹😢
I had a more aggressive, complex piece planned for this, but when I got there, I just had this sense that I wanted to ask the dancers the types of things that they want to train right now and when I heard their responses, this felt like the perfect piece to be able to work wait-time and practice presence and let loose a little bit. It was the right choice!
