Far-flung adventures for the culinary curious. Kitchen in the Wild is a series of hosted culinary events set in wild, remote locations across the globe. At the heart of each retreat is a shared love of food, nature and craft. Every experience brings together a small group of discerning guests for four or five nights - cooking, creating, and gathering around the communal table. World-class chefs cook with ingredients drawn from the surrounding landscape, blending their own influences with the unfamiliar. Artists and makers lead guests through hands-on workshops, inspired by the land and wildlife around them. The @kitchenitw team Kitchen in the Wild is the work of long-time collaborators Valentine Warner and Clare Isaacs... ... who have both spent the last decade crafting food experiences that go far beyond the plate. @valentinewarner49 is a chef, food writer and broadcaster with a deep knowledge of wild ingredients and a lifelong connection to the natural world. Whether cooking over embers in the Arctic or foraging in the Highlands, his instinctive approach to flavour is shaped by fire, place and curiosity. Clare @wearesprout is a curator of exceptional culinary events, known for transforming food at UK festivals and collaborating with some of the world’s leading chefs. Her eye for detail, atmosphere and rhythm is what turns a meal into a memory. The only way to get to grips with each of our locations’ ingredients is to experience them first hand. While some flavour combinations are obvious, the cornucopia of intriguing and strange new ingredients (from kind folk who know we’re interested) needs chewing over. That the sweet may pair with the savoury, the bitter find its way to the booze and the downright odd be turned into something tempting. “I’m endlessly interested in how varieties of the same plant such as juniper display subtle taste differences and appearances like this Spanish variety. Ripening to rust red rather than blue black and the size of small cherries (as opposed to the large peppercorn size in the UK), the taste is much sweeter and fruitier in Spain, the trees taller and spindlier. Kitchen in the Wild x Masaki Sugisaki Following the huge response to our @coombesheadfarm trip in November, we’re delighted to announce another Cornwall date in March 2027, with guest chef @masaki_sugisaki Masaki’s cooking is rooted in Japanese discipline, shaped by years spent in his family’s Kaiseki restaurant just north of Tokyo, and refined through his work in London. At @dinings_sw3 , he brings that same precision to British ingredients, with a particular focus on Cornish seafood. Kitchen In The Wild x Anna Koska We are delighted to welcome artist and illustrator Anna Koska (@gremkoska ) to Kitchen In The Wild Scotland this October. Anna is renowned for her intricate illustrations of fruit, veg, fish and the natural world. She has illustrated more than 100 books and collaborated with chefs, writers and publishers globally. Her work, often created using watercolour or egg tempera, celebrates the beauty of nature with remarkable detail and sensitivity. At KITW, Anna will guide guests through painting sessions inspired by the island’s wildlife and seasonal ingredients. Menu process We start planning menus in earnest 3 months before each trip. Of course it starts with the ingredients in each setting; what’s available under our noses, what the surrounding landscape produces, the best of the season, and the finest local suppliers. We share these delicious findings with our guest chefs and the menus begin to take shape. KITW locations tend to throw curveballs; weather, tricky roads or stormy seas. So too an inquisitive guest chef who changes their mind on discovering an enticing new larder. So, despite meticulous planning, it’s the last minute changes we have learned to embrace. Kitchen in the Wild x Adam Byatt This November, we’re thrilled to be joined by @adambyatt at @coombesheadfarm in Cornwall. Adam’s cooking strikes a rare balance: total command of the classics, paired with invention and a deep respect for ingredients, both wild and cultivated. His early years at Claridge’s led to The Square with Phil Howard. Today, he brings that same care to Trinity, alongside his role as Chair of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts.
