Nine years ago, I shot something that is still very special to me.
An old woman sits by her doorway, Waiting. Her eyes are blank, looking around, unaware of time’s passage.
Shot in black and white during my first year at @ftiiofficial , this was my first film and first collaboration with Director Ravi Sankar. We found poetry in her solitude, beauty in her unwavering wait.
Recently discovered this while digging through old hard drives. Sometimes the films we make early on matter the most.
Sharing this today, especially in memory of Paro Bai ❤️— whose presence brought this quiet tale to life.

A moment of pride for Indian cinematography.
In another corner of the world, in a place renowned for the art of cinematography, I found myself surrounded by the greatest filmmakers and the finest technology—including the IMAX camera. I was already in awe.
And then, amidst the introductions, a voice. A familiar language. Tamil.
I turned, drawn instinctively to the sound, and there he was—Ravi Varman Sir, the cinematographer whose work had long inspired me. In a space already filled with legends, meeting him was an unexpected moment of connection, a reminder of how cinema bridges not just frames, but worlds.
Meeting you, Sir, in that moment was an honor. Thank you for your time, your wisdom, and the stories you share through light and shadow.
