What a session that was… NEW LAKE RECORD!
Dropping into a new swim on the lake, I really wasn’t sure what to expect. Never fished it, and not many people have. Didn’t know where to start, so I sent the Deeper quest out to feature find and get an idea on what was going on. Not many features to go off other than a few hard spots and a few shallower areas. So I decided to fish solid bags just off the hard areas in the slightly silty spots. Three different spots which all produced fish in the 48 hour session proving that maybe we look too much for that perfect drop.
4 hours into the session the left hand rod absolutely melted off with a one tone, upon picking the rod up I could tell it wasn’t something small. Typical big fish movement, sluggish and hugging the bottom. Never saw the fish until it popped it head up ready for netting and straight away I knew it was an absolute unit! 32-4 this one weighed and was the new lake record. Backed up with a 22+ plus some others. 100% hook to land ratio which is testament to the end gear!
New 30 so got to name the fish Bernard after my grandad which really did touch a spot 💙
Fishing solid bags over beds of bait. Solid bags filled with house 3mm pellet and blended TNUT and Krill Critter boilie, with a good helping of the new Scopex squid liquid bait smoke.
Bait wise, 10mm whole and crushed TNUT and Krill Critter boilie, mixed house pellet and a good helping of the Scopex Squid liquid hydros.
Hookbaits wise we kept swapping between the TNUT and spicy liver 12mm wafters.
Rig wise, 3 inch of the JEL-E-WYRE Bareback, single tungsten slug to pin it down, medium tungsten kicker, Size 6 Grabba paired with a micro hook ring swivel fished Slip D style.

Deeper quest dropping it on the money as always

During a recent session early on a crisp, misty spring morning I was lucky enough to land both parts of a double take being these two lovely commons 😍
Both just couldn’t resist 20mm custom rolled Tnut wafers one soaked in yellow Tnut bait smoke and one soaked in pink Tnut bait smoke on crank ronnie rigs attached to running lead clip systems with a 3.5oz dumpy distance lead and around two foot of tungsten tubing over a bed of mixed over runs, 20mm Tnut & spicy liver boilies all in whole, half & crumb, hemp, maples, tigers, buckwheat with a healthy helping of both Tnut and spicy liver liquid food hydros! Hook baits, spod mix and rigs that’s been keeping them bites coming for me recently 🎣
