I had the honor of speaking on a Women in Film + Women Directors Panel thanks to @shubey_prods + it was genuinely a dream come true!
As a young woman in a male dominated field it was hard for me to get advice, to get support, and all the things when I first started. Being able to speak to aspiring women in film, women who are directors or want to be directors + give advice from my 8 years of experience + genuinely help them…truly no words can suffice.
So appreciative for everyone who came, I even had a girl travel from Memphis…the girlies are ready to learn and I am ready to teach them! Truly so grateful for this opportunity. Thank you @shubey_prods for curating this amazing event, you are a light!

- a love letter to my childhood in the form of an event..this event was inspired by the passing of D’Angelo and Angie Stone last year. Them and many others were so iconic to my upbringing…like the cleaning music my mom used to play that shaped me into who I am today. From watching VH1 Music Videos all the time, to reading Jet magazines at the hair salon, to the ghetto fabulous aesthetic of that time, I wanted to pay homage to it all. SoHo Birthday Party Photobooth Installation by Me ☺️
✨The theme of the party was Mardi Gras so I wanted to do an installation that was super fun, colorful, lively…I wanted it to feel like a party…all the things Mardi Gras feels like. At first I was going to just Mardi Gras colors, purple, yellow + green but then I was like let’s really give a vibe and chose 4-5 colors to rock with. Plus I like for my installations to have a little interaction so people can actually engage and have fun with it! To see people really have fun with it + enjoy my ideas is a dream come true!!
