I am honored to be a driving force behind this program and to be the moderator for the fireside chat with CHERYL THE PEARL, the last living member of SEQUENCE. I have known BLONDY from SEQUENCE since I was in college and we became close like family. She was one of my favorite people. She recently passed on April 6, 2026 and I am devastated. One thing that gives me peace is that we were working on this exhibit together. She was so excited about receiving her recognition for the history she made in 1979 with SEQUENCE. She was working on picking the exhibit items when she passed. The two pillars of our practice are accessibility and community engagement. In this short time, we have shown up for artists, entrepreneurs, and families through education, advocacy, service, and celebration. From leading conversations on copyright termination and ownership, to supporting client projects and benefit concerts, to volunteering our time and resources, our work has remained rooted in access, visibility, and long-term impact. It was a hard year and I struggled to find the energy to celebrate. I thank God for friends and family. I appreciate all the shout outs and messages. Thank you for the love and reminding me that my presence in this world is valued. Thank you for not letting me sit in my sadness and grief alone. No one talks about how hard it is to find joy when a tragic loss is connected to a birthday or holiday. I’m so grateful to @millyroze for getting me out the house and not allowing me to downplay my day. We made new friends and bonded over karaoke. It was special. It’s time to make this 35th year a turning point and legacy building year. Thank you God for all the blessings to come!🫶🏾🥰
