Kaleid-Escape has been open for a full week! This mesmerizing installation by @_hex.visuals is an interactive, immersive experience that has been paired with soundscapes created by local musicians. Our new song “surface of glass” has been out for about a week now. Had a blast collaborating on this with my dear friend, Kenny Florence. 5 years ago, we were jamming at his apartment in Brooklyn when he introduced me to a new song idea that he said was his take on my style. 1 year ago, we were together at his house in Raleigh, NC actually recording the thing. Kenny wrote most of the lyrics and I was pretty hyped on the opportunity to sing phrases that would never even occur to me such as “disparate pieces of the earth combining to provide dinner for tonight”. While we were there, I asked if he’d record a solo on my track “fever dream” and I watched with amazement while he wrote, practiced and perfected this very clever guitar lead over the course of about 20 whole minutes. Now he’s in L.A. making waves for his role on the newest season of HBO’s “The Rehearsal”. @kenheflo is one of the most talented musicians you’ll ever meet. Excited to announce that I'll be releasing the first single "Blue Pearl" from my upcoming 3 song EP on Friday, February 9. It takes me a really long time to put stuff out these days - better late than never!
